Hey everyone, I’m looking into getting an ED visa to study Thai and trying to understand how flexible it can be.

Specifically: Is it possible to do only 2 days per week (instead of 3+)?

Are there evening classes, or is it mostly mornings?

Do any schools allow some online / hybrid attendance?

If you’ve done this yourself or know good schools in Bangkok, I’d really appreciate recommendations or contacts. Thanks!

EDIT: I only prefer 2 days over 3 days because it fits my schedule better, I'm fine with many hours a day

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m currently on DTV in Bangkok and looking for the best Thai language school to start studying. I’ve narrowed my search down to two options:

📌 The Knowledge BKK

📌 ALA Language School

If anyone has personal feedback, experiences, or is currently attending classes at either of these schools, I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts!

Also, if you have other Thai school recommendations that you’ve had a good experience with, please feel free to share those as well.

Thanks so much in advance! 🙏🇹🇭

Sawasdee Krub,

Anyone familiar with this coming from the Us should be able to help.

I’ve been told the move to stay in Thailand is to apply for the DTV visa, full stop. The issue of course is that you need 500,000 baht average in a bank account (checking /savings) for 90 + days.

I have a brokerage account with the amount but from what I understand, that doesn’t work because it has to be currency, not stocks, crypto, etc.

My back up is an ED visa, but I’m concerned because the fees aren’t refundable for either option, and I’m flying on 31st Oct.

If I’m being honest, I’m planning to train Muay Thai, and learn the language (probably seek citizenship eventually)

I get checks for life, and plan on working digitally on top of that, but they want 3 months of the money in my account to recieve DTV.

Can I come in with ED and and apply after the expiration from another SE country?

Is there any tips on how I still may be able to get the DTV? I really really want that one!

Khop Khun Krub!

Hi everyone 👋

I’m looking into getting an ED visa to study Thai in Bangkok, and I’d really appreciate some advice.

* What are the most reputable Thai language schools in the city that people recommend for the ED visa?

* Any tips or experiences (good or bad) you’ve had with schools, the visa process, or things to look out for?

Thanks a lot for any insights 🙏

Hey , so around the summer of 2027 I’m going to be leaving out the army (not retirement) I’ll be 28 and my plan is to use my gi bill to go to college full time learning Thai for 4 years. Any advice of work from home jobs certifications or savings amount and anything else that is recommended to make the move easier that I should do before I move there. I have 2 years to prep.

Ill be applying for my ed visa soon. Which school did everyone decide to go with? I just want to select the best school. I also want to stay away from any with processing issues. I have heard someone recently get deported because the school didn't complete their paperwork in time.
