To get my name on the house book I need a certified copy of my birth certificate.

The US embassy doesn’t do that. It’s for the authority in Nonthaburi. What is acceptable as certification?

Hi, we're seeking some answers that we can't find researching on our own. We have Tourist visas and want to apply for Guardian Visa. Our children have 1 year ED visas. The application requires Affidavit with Thai Embassy, we looked into going to US consulate in Thailand, but they do NOT do affidavits anymore. Any advice on where we can go or how we can get one in Thailand that we can use for the visa application? We have our children's original birth certificates and our notarized Marriage License. Any suggestions, advice is much appreciated!

Hi, this is not explicitely a visa question, but without a bankaccount no extension of stay right? Here my question: After opening the account for the deposit fund of 800'000 baht, do the banks accept the sum in cash? (baht or foreign currency) or do they only accept transfer from my home bank? There are many different infos about this issue. Thanks for your appreciated help.

Thanks for the private answer. For my initial non-O retirement visa I have to show my home bank account for the last 3 months before applying with the 800'000 baht in foreign currency. As soon as I enter Thailand with this visa I have to open a thai bank account, which I still do not have yet.

Has anyone recently gone for a non-O Visa yearly renewal (retirement or marriage) in Bangkok (Chaeng Wattana)?

If so, was an income proof letter (affidavit) from an embassy sufficient?

I saw in other forum posts that some immigration offices are now asking for additional information (Thai bank statements and letter from bank), in addition to the letter from the embassy. So I'm wondering if it's now also the same at Chaeng Wattana. Last July when I did my first yearly extension, the letter from the embassy was sufficient.

Hi all,

Has anyone needed an affadavit certifying a marriage certificate? (working on Kor Ror 22 as we were married outside of Thailand.)

I am being told I need to certify our marriage cert, but on the US Embassy site, it says that they don't do that. In this case I should do a signed affidavit, but what should I write on the document - that our document is legitimate? Or that I am married to ____.

Thank you so much for any input.

Hi! We'll be going back to the US in a bit, and while there applying for our Non-O-over-50 visa for our return, with plans do to the retirement extension. For all that, we need to get an affidavit of our US marriage certificate notarized by the US consulate here in Chiang Mai. Gonna do that here before we leave for the US to just git 'er done. By chance, anyone have a blank online copy of the affidavit they use for that? I believe they have copies at the consulate, but was curious to have a look at it prior to our appointment at the consulate. Couldn't find one on the consulate site, just one to swear that you're not married.

Hey guys. I’m sorry if this group isn’t the right place to ask. Basically, I was wondering about the requirements for authenticating my university diploma and transcripts for the purpose of working in Thailand. I’m trying to get a non b visa and work permit. I’ve heard that this must be done through the Thai Consulate/Embassy in the USA. But I have also heard that the requirement can be met with an affidavit from the US Embassy while in Thailand. Which one of these is true? How do you guys recommend going about this? I don’t know when I’ll actually go to Thailand yet but I want to have everything ready.
