Has anyone applied from NZ who is willing to share some answers to questions I have? Mainly, how many months worth of bank statements were required, and what was the turn around time for approval? How far in advance is best to apply? We are selling our house and using that money for the 500k requirement, but worried it will look bad being a large deposit late in the application process. Please only NZ answers, I understand all embassies have different requirements. Thanks so much peoples โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘
Answer summary
This post seeks information from individuals who have applied for a Thai visa from New Zealand, particularly focusing on the requirements for bank statements, processing times for approval, and the ideal timing for submitting an application. The discussion includes personal experiences from several users, noting quick processing times at the Royal Thai embassy in Wellington and the costs associated with obtaining the DTV visa. Furthermore, there are insights on using income affidavits as proof for financial stability and considerations regarding large deposits in bank statements when applying.

I applied for a retirement Non O 90 days on a Thursday and got it on Sunday morning. They're very quick (just as well as it was NZ800) and also quick to get back with anything missing. For the Non O they did want me to provide health insurance (other countries don't need this, only for the OA visa) and also wanted details of my accomodation for the full 90 days and proof of onwards ticket (sometimes this isn't required). I can't answer for what they will ask for with the DTV.

NZ Embassy will give you affidavit for income in NZ if that income equals the visa requirements, yearly. Depends on which visa you are using. Left NZ 2020 and living here since. Married to a Thai for 20yrs.

I got my DTV visa from the Royal Thai embassy in Wellington in a record 48 hours time. Checked the requirements via mail before. Provided my documentation accordingly, was asked for a few more documents (proof of address and residence visa), and that was it. Great service and super fast ๐Ÿ˜Š

Sandy Ruegg thank you! How many months of bank statemtents did you provide? We are selling property which may not settle til right before we plan to apply, worried about large sum deposits being a red flag

OrangeApricot4057 I wouldn't think a large deposit would raise a red flag. However, I did provide three months of the necessary funds. You can always ask them via mail first or attach a letter explaining your situation once you apply. I also called them once because before to clarify some questions I had.

The New Zealand embassy in Bangkok issues income affidavits. I have previously used this instead of the required min 65k Baht per month for immigration (O-Retirment extension)

I'm guessing you are referring to the DTV visa? I'm not sure you will get much of a response from other Kiwis as the Thai embassy in NZ is probably the most expensive embassy anywhere to apply through

yes, sorry, DTV. Thanks for your reply. We are Australians but been living in NZ for 10 years, so maybe we go back to Australia to apply - but all our bank records etc are in NZ. Thanks again.
