Good morning to the whole group: I will be in Laos in August and would like to apply for a retirement visa. I have a few questions:

1) Using the 65,000 THB monthly income method, does the bank statement need to cover 12 months showing the 65,000 THB deposits?

2) Must the 65,000 THB also appear for the month of August?

3) Must the 65,000 THB be deposited in a single lump sum, or can it be the total of two separate deposits?

4) If the total exceeds 65,000, is it still accepted, or does it have to be exactly 65,000? Thanks everyone.

Unless your embassy confirms your revenues to be at least 65 000thb/ month (most don't do it anymore), your only choice for the first year is go with 800 000thb AND deposit 65 000thb monthly. The second year you'll be able to go with 65 000thb only

Most embassies want to see 3 months of bank statements. Did you check the embassy's website to see what their requirements are for a non-O visa?

Why are you worrying about showing your income though? You won't be able to use that for your extension in Thailand. Easier to just get the 800,000 settled now so you can use that for your extension 2 months later.

Marco Vicenza For non o visa, you have to get the income letter from your embassy. But why not? you can try without it.

Marco Vicenza You can contact your embassy in Bangkok and ask whether they can issue an income affidavit for further use at Immigration as an alternative to keeping 800,000 baht in a Thai bank account if that’s an issue.
