Hi,Does anyone currently have a Non O application with Canberra embassy. Mi e has sat at waiting approval for nearly 18 days.Sent an email and just received a standard reply saying turnaround is 10 business days.
I’m applying for a Thai Non-Immigrant O (Spouse) Visa for the first time through the Embassy in Canberra, and I’d really appreciate some advice from anyone who has gone through it recently.
From what I’ve read, the main requirements are:
• Marriage certificate + spouse’s Thai ID & house registration
• Invitation letter from spouse
• Bank statement showing at least 20,000 THB (individual) or 40,000 THB (family)
• Proof of residence in Australia
• Proof of accommodation in Thailand
• Flight itinerary
My question is: did the Embassy ask you for anything extra beyond this list (like proof of income, wedding photos, extra financials, etc.)? And was an invitation letter in English enough, or did you also provide one in Thai?
Any tips or clarifications would be a huge help since this is my first time applying 🙏
Hey folks, I applied for soft power Muay Thai at Canberra embassy in Australia on the 14th of May, I had to add an additional doc on the 20th, I’ve heard Canberra can be fast and slow approving visas. Has anyone else on here gone through Canberra and what were your results.
What’s everyone’s experience been like with the Canberra embassy? Applied a bit over a month ago, got asked for further documents and now it’s been pending for 3-4 weeks
For our Australian members you can no longer apply for any visas by the “old method” of sending in your passport to the Thai embassy/consulate to get a sticker affixed to your passport.
As of March 19th Australia will switch to the “sticker-less” evisa system which means everything is done online.
If you live in NSW you apply and choose the Sydney Consulate. Elsewhere you apply choosing the Canberra Embassy.
The option to apply on line will not go live until the 19th. Until then you’re in limbo as they won’t accept applications anymore via post.
As yet we don’t know the new pricing structure for visas from Australia although they have said there will be price increases.
New Zealand are switching on the same date and have released new prices - some 3-5x higher than previous. Australia may have the same sort of increase but as yet this is unknown.
The online system to apply is here. [members only]/
