TLDR : Answer Summary
Several members shared their experiences applying for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) from Australia, particularly through the Canberra Embassy. Most reported processing times of around 2 to 4 weeks, with some experiencing additional document requests. It was noted that clear and accurate information is crucial during the application process. Some individuals mentioned the option of using agents like Siam Legal for assistance, while others were able to navigate the process independently.
Applied as business owner with the Sydney consulate last August, had to concatenate documents in a single file to supply them second time. Visa issued in around 2 weeks.
Happy to introduce you to a great local Samui agent who specializes in DTV and also generously donates part of their fees to the Samui Surf Lifesaving club (to help local Kids to learn to swim in the ocean). I can send you their details
I went through Canberra and it took 2.5 weeks with one request for additional information (it was already provided) I then called the Embassy expressing concerns I had flights booked 2 days away and it was finished in 20 minutes.
We received our DTV last Wednesday. A very anxious 3.5 weeks. We went through Siam Legal and the consultant was very thorough making sure all our paperwork was perfect. We were never asked for any further documentation.
I applied at Canberra Embassy on March 6th. On March 19th they requested a document I already submitted when lodging the application. I resent the same document the same day and haven’t heard back from them yet since.
I applied online for workation DTV at Canberra Embassy. Submitted on 29th Jan and got approval on 4th March. Got requested for weird additional document but its ok that I still got the visa at the end.
Just a tip from my case, email them if your waiting is longger than 2weeks.
