I have a DTV visa. Next year my passport will need to be renewed in my home country. As I understand from reading different posts about this topic, when I'm in Thailand again, I can just go to immigration with both passports and they will transfer the visa to the new passport.

My question is this: can I enter the country by BKK airport with the new passport (carrying the old one as a backup) and the e-visa? What will the immigration officer as airport customs do? Will that officer transfer the visa? Or will he give me a 60 day stamp and I need to go to immigration office and have the proper DTV stamp and visa transfered?

Do I need to do this process for the remainder of the validity of the visa? Because if that's the case then I need to carry the old passport every time I enter the country, go to immigration every time and have it transfered.

Or will it be a one-time transfer and I will get a new e-visa document showing the new passport number?

I hope I explained my question clearly. Thanks for reading and answering :)

Did anyone successfully register a new passport for the DTV visa?

I'm not in Thailand at the moment and I'll get a new passport soon but my approved visa application has the old passport number etc.

I applied online, so no sticker etc. in my passport.

Does anyone know what I need to do?
