Just sharing my recent experience.
I’ve arrived today from Paris with a dtv soft power visa.
I went through the IO in Bkk( btw someone here said try not to go were a woman io was because they are more questioning; all of the bureaus were held by women 😆😅)
The arrivals were pretty packed, but it took a maximum of 15 minutes to get through, so really not bad.
To be honest the IO didn’t even ask me any questions at all. She checked the dtv paper I had printed and that’s basically it. Just to note that I had used the new Thim app and I had “booked” an onward ticket that cancels itself after 48 hours for 15€.
Now i’m good to go with that 6 month stamp.

If you don't have a history of long-term stays in Thailand using visa-exempt stays and border bounces, then you will not have a problem entering, as long as you avoid Phuket

absolute rubbish, I have 6 entries by land and air with no problems. Avoid Phuket, and you will be fine

No return/onward ticket required for DTV holders. Reports of being requested at Phuket Airport (only) for a very short time. Assume it was IO misinterpretation or instructions of an overly keen supervisor.Soso *****

I’ve heard so many different versions, so I decided to go with that 15€ « ticket ». Imagine being denied just for that, wasn’t worth the risk 😅

Brittlesmoothie Not necessary when checking-in at departure airport or when entering Thailand using a DTV.

Brittlesmoothie It lasts for 48 to 72 hours, so buy just before you check in for your flight. It is a genuine booking, so not fake.

Same experience this morning. Woman checked my printout and didn't ask a single question. Didn't use thim cause app was buggy so i filed TDAC but she didn't ask for it. I have a flight out of thailand next week but she also did not ask, just quickly looked at my visa and then stamped me for 6 months. Quick and painless.
