First DTV Entry Experience at BKK (Suvarnabhumi) 🇹🇭

Just wanted to share a quick update on my first entry with the DTV!

Arrived at immigration and the queue was quite long at first. Waited about 30 minutes to get to the counter—though ironically, by the time it was my turn, the line behind me had completely cleared out. Noticed that pretty much all the immigration counters were staffed by women.

When I stepped up, I presented:

Passport

Printed DTV e-Visa

Boarding pass

Thailand Arrival Card (TD6)

She barely glanced at the documents and didn't even care to scan the QR code from the arrival card. She directly asked me to scan my fingerprints, took a quick photo, stamped my passport, and I was good to go! Entire process at the counter took less than two minutes. Super smooth entry overall.

You dont print the Dtac, thats the whole idea of it.once you submit it will with your passport number merge within the data base.

They know a lot already without asking you.

I feel like you guys are taking this to the extreme yourselves. Asking whether they requested anything else, whether the officer looked particularly closely at some document, how he reacted, and so on.

You’re basically creating all this attention yourselves and potentially giving authorities a reason to scrutinize things more closely in the future. Seriously, I can’t believe this.

I hear what you are saying. I think Marco was just trying to be helpful. The problem arises I guess because people don't have complete confidence in the visa system caused possibly by the perceived discretionary powers of the immigration officers. If you do a search on Google for a discussion forum on visa issues in Georgia, I doubt you will find one. These visa discussion forums are prolific in SE Asia. For Georgia, where I'm now based, you just turn up, no paperwork, no visa and you can stay for a year. Yep, a lot of energy wasted on visa issues, I agree.

I really don’t understand it. But hey, everyone needs a hobby, so feel free to carry on. I’m just genuinely wondering what’s behind all of this.

guess you're Hobby then is looking for Facebook posts that you don't like and waste your time on commenting them instead of enjoying Thai life. Hope you have a great day 🫶

Don’t you guys have anything better to do with your time? You have a valid visa, and yet you’re writing all this stuff about how the immigration officer looked at you, how he behaved, what his facial expression was, and so on.

Something about this is just weird. Do you really think you’re the only ones reading all of this? Don’t you think the authorities might be reading along too?

Maybe ask yourselves what the point of this whole circus actually is.

why dont you first ask the anonymous gang, what is the point of posting nameless (and probably also baseless) stories about how valid visa owners are being scrutinized at the border and how they are demanded to present the entire package of their visa application documents again when entering the country?and how even if they are not asked, they should be prepared for that and carry the entire package of their application docs (including a recent bank statement( with them at every entry anyway

Are there financial requirements and a need to open a bank account to obtain this DTV? The Td6 will be equivalent to digital TDAC ?

You are not allowed a Thai bank account on that visa.

the requirements are listed on the official homepage. You can't open a Thai bank account with DTV. td6 = TDAC, yes
