What documentation should I submit for a DTV application if I am unemployed and have substantial funds but no regular income?

Hi,

I have applied for a DTV via the London consulate under soft power. I have marked myself as unemployed and they have come back asking me for a personal statement and 3 months statements with my income.

When I originally submitted my form I showed evidence of around £30,000 in accounts, yet they are asking about income.

I have additional funds of course but these dont qualify as cash (shares, funds etc).

I also submitted 1 months Transferwise bank statement, which included the required 12k.

My main bank account had a blip one month and went negative for a couple of weeks (of course it isnt now and hasnt been since). I could submit this but am a little concerned about doing that. If I submit my Transferwise account (3 months) there will be little transaction history apart from foreign travel.

Any idea what I should submit? Especially given neither show any income of any kind, and that my main account had a negative balance.

When they asked i merged pdfs with the bank statment income, my shares portfolio and rental income contract. I was approved 14 hours later. They want to see you can fund yourself so give them more than enough evidence

You seem a little fixated on the funds that you've accumulated or are the required 500K. That is emergency money. So their question is very clear, how have you been supporting yourself and how are you going to support yourself over the next 5 years?

They want to see how you will support yourself for the duration of the visa in addition to the 500k baht which is far from enough to live on in Thailand over the course of a 5 year visa.

Did they accept your Wise statements?

They basically want to know how you will support yourself. If unemployed you explain how you are going to use the 30k to support yourself. It is ok to show stocks, funds for financial support but not for the 500k. So detail all your stocks and funds, their value and any  income you get from them.

Do you have any source of income?

I would submit the statements, a letter indicating how you would be supporting yourself during your stay here and a copy of your shares/funds to show how much money you have.
