What are the financial requirements for applying for the O-A visa from Australia?

We did our OA visa before we moved from Australia, it is so much easier to do it in Australia.

I'd say BOTH of you should apply for an O-A separately IF you can swing the financials (I have seen couples do it like this. One applies using the money in their bank account and then moves the money to the other one's bank account and they apply)

I asked the consulate that you will be using because different consulates there (that can issue an O-A visa) have different requirements. For instances in Sydney you need to show the 800K baht (or the equivalent) in the bank for 6 months BUT in Canberra you only need to show it in the account on the date you apply (no 6 month rule) SO look at the requirements where you will be applying.

, umm the money doesn't "sit there" at all. You can take it out of the bank the second you get the O-A visa issued.
