I'm from South Africa, I am in Thailand with my family (husband and son) , They are both South African too. When we were in South Africa, I went to the Thai embassy and they advised a Non Immigrant B Visa for myself and O Visa for my Husband and son. They also advised that I need 40 000 baht for my whole family in my bank account. Since I arrived here the school said to me the amount is not 40 000 it is 500 000! How can this be , it seems almost very impossible that someone applying for a teachers job, to make money, will have that in the account in their account. Plus the documents fro, the athai Embassy in South Africa states 40 000 , so how can it change in Thailand . Please help
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on the bank account balance needed for her family to obtain Non Immigrant B and Non-O visas in Thailand. Initially advised a required amount of 40,000 baht from the Thai embassy in South Africa, she encountered conflicting information stating a requirement of 500,000 baht from the school in Thailand. Community responses indicate varying requirements depending on visa types and circumstances, suggesting confusion around documentation and actual financial needs for visa applications.
