Applying for a Non immigrant O visa on the uk thai embassy website and one of the requirements is to provide evidence of a minimum of £10,000 in your uk bank account. Is this a new requirement as this is contradicted in other thai evisa feeds. Interested to know if anybody has had a similar recent experience.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation addresses the requirements for applying for a Non-Immigrant O visa through the UK Thai Embassy, specifically the necessity to provide a minimum balance of £10,000 in a bank account. Several commenters share their experiences, stating that while some embassies might have different interpretations, providing bank statements showing this balance over the last three months has been a requirement for many applicants. Confusion arises from varying information online and differences in requirements based on applicant circumstances, such as age or purpose of the visa.

It’s an out of country O so yes I had to show that I had funds to call on if I’ll

It’s been a requirement for a while but if it’s a Non O for being over 50 then it’s either proof of pension OR the 10k for 3 months not both. I recently got a Non O and used an occupational pension.

is it 3 months or just a balance of 10k. Cant find any reference to a time period in the application or the notes. Infact the notes dont even mention the 10k.

as
@David ******
says if you are using UK bank statements it is the last 3 months of statements with each one showing an excess of £10,000. That's what I had to provide when I made my application last December.

looking at the requirements in detail line by line a non O for more than 60 days to visit your spouse reqires a balance of 10k only. Its another category of the non O that requires it the be there for 3 month. I am travelling to visit my wife who is a thai national.

sorry for any confusion. My application was for a non o for being over 50. Obviously different criteria depending on the reason for application.

the RTE London website says 3 months so, as they handle applications, I’m going by that. You could always contact them to check everything as I’ve been told they don’t actually enforce the insurance requirement even though it’s on the website.

Different Embassies/Consulates have different rules or interpretations of the rules/requirements. You have to meet the requirements of yours.

The last couple of times I have applied for a single entry non o E visa in the UK this was a requirement. The reason for visa was being over 50. First application was pre covid. The second one earlier this year. Both times uploaded the bank statement as requested, visa issued within 3 - 4 days.

Ok I'll try again. When I search online for the requirements for an non immigrant O visa there is no reference for having an amount in your bank account. However within the application it requires it. In fact when searching. The thai embassy e visa site notes come up and it does not detail any bank acount requirements. Therefore I'm interested in whether any resent applicants did or did not include the information and where they successful or not.
