Non O Marriage Visa Extension re-entry financial requirements

Hi Everyone,

Am I correct on re entry into Thailand with a re entry permit with a Non O Marriage visa extension that you don’t need to show 20,000 baht cash etc ?

And that’s only for tourists on visa free entry and tourist visas?

Thanks in advance 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The community consensus is that for individuals holding a Non O Marriage visa extension, there is no requirement to show 20,000 baht in cash when re-entering Thailand. This cash requirement seems to apply primarily to tourists on visa-free entries and standard tourist visas. Some members recommend having some cash on hand just in case, while one user mentioned experience with immigration checks that did not include cash verification.

look, dude. . . . . I am standing right next to an Immigration Volunteer, and I KNOW what I am talking about. You should quit posting rubbish and go back to "four wins" with the birds in your favourite bar in Sin City. Don't worry about entry and visa rules - they are not made so you understand them. They are made for smart people

I had re-entry to Thailand Nov 26, 2025 on my Non-O visa. Immigration checked the stamps in my passport very thoroughly. But there was no questions about amount of cash in my possession.

Correct the 20,000 baht requirement is tourist visa requirements - non-o visa you have already displayed financial security in the application for visa alone - but it doesnt hurt to habe cash on hand anyway

I have never heard or read that the 20,000 THB cash proof was asked from someone on a 1-year Extension of Stay Permit, however this does not mean that it WILL NOT be asked. Better be safe than sorry

he definitely didn't enter on a VOA but rather on a visa-exempt. YOU are confusing VOA with visa exemption. The "dvmb" one you can find when looking into a mirror

that cr.. text you posted is complete rubbish, because they talk about a "visa-on-arrival" . .We are NOT elegible for the VOA. We are elegible for the visa exemption, which is a completely different thing. PLEASE delete your post and don't confuse readers

Tourists who enter visa-exempt or on a 60-days tourist visa can be asked for the 20,000 THB cash proof alike. Not everone will be asked. The requirement has been introduced in the year 1976. It is a part of the "Section 12" rules of Thai Immigration. Stop calling me "dude" or "dumb" 😃😄 I know much more about these things than you

this is not true. Even on a SETV tourist visa you can be asked for the cash proof. Definitely if you show up like the guy on the left and/or reek of alcohol. At this scenario, the cash proof (lack of sufficient funds) will be used against you as "reason" to deny entry. This happens over and over again on all Thailand's international airports, this is a standard repertoire

a VOA must be bought at the Airport before Immigration, it costs 2000 Baht and will only allow you 15 days in Thailand, non extendable. These people won't get asked for the cash proof, because they have already been tested at the VOA counter inside the airport. And stop calling me "dude"

here, the mistake is that they say that a Non-Imm-Visaclass holder is required to show proof of cash. I have NEVER hear or read that a Non-Imm-Visaclass holder was asked for proof of cash. I however have heard and read MANY reports that holders of tourist visas and on a visa-exempt entry were asked for the proof of cash . . . Once an Immigration officer starts to ask you for this proof, you MUST BE fully aware that he already might have decided to deny entry to you 😜
