Hi everybody; I have applied in usa for a 90 day non-o retirement Visa. My first question is regarding timing. If I register my address upon arrival (TM-30) and then open up Thai bank account and deposit ฿800,000 I have to let the funds “season” for 60 days. then I’m told i can apply for a one year extension. But I read somewhere that you’re supposed to apply 30-
45 days before your 90 day visa expires. Is this true? And if so, what do I do about it? The math doesn’t work.
Second question is regarding transferring funds. If I use Wise, will it show up as a foreign transfer? Is this important?
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time and trouble to respond.
Do I need to open the bank account in same city or area as the one I want to apply for the 12 month extension at?
Or would it work to open one account in Koh Samui, for example, so I can deposit funds for seasoning. Then when I get up to Chiang Mai later, open another acount in a branch there?
I am planning to base myself in Chiang Mai but considering spending time on the islands when I first arrive in Thailand. I want to get the account open + funds seasoning asap.
Has anyone applied for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) at the Jakarta embassy? How long do I need to keep the baht 500,000 in my bank account before applying? Can I still apply if the funds have only been there for one week? Please share your experience!
Hello. I am currently in Thailand on a 90 day non-O visa. We just deposited the 400k in a bank account. My non-O expires on 16 September. I am married (in Thailand) to a Thai lady. We want to spend a few weeks in Vietnam for tourism.
1) Can I apply for a 1 year extension only after two months seasoning of funds, or can I apply earlier?
2) Can I get a re-entry permit and leave the country for a short holiday and return before the 90 day non-O expires? Or will that simply invalidate the 90 day non-O visa?
3) I’ve seen a timeline graph for those who request extension based on retirement. Is there a similar timeline graph for the application of an extension based on being married to a Thai?
