Do bank statements for Thai visa applications need to show 3 months of transactions?

Hi everyone,

One question about the funds.

When you attach your bank account statement, does it have to show the last 3 months movements?

I mean I'm not very happy to show all my expenses and incomes, it is a bit intrusive.

Many thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a visa to Thailand, it is generally required to submit a bank account statement showing funds for at least the last 3 months. However, specific requirements can vary by embassy. Some applicants have mentioned blacking out certain transactions or presenting statements that only show income, which may be acceptable, but it is essential to check with the relevant embassy for clarity. A few users noted they were able to provide proof of funds without needing a full statement, emphasizing the importance of having a solid documentation plan.

Where are you from? I can confirm specifically for LA consulate 3 months doesn’t matter. They only care about latest balance.

actually I have a Revolut and a Wise, but there's not enough funds. I can move them from another account in a day, but do you think the whole amount of funds must have been in the account for 3 months?

Anonimowy uczestnik mine weren't. literally transferred the day before. but i did call thai embassy in my country beforehand - i had the same issue you do. enough funds, but in many different accounts. the guy handling visa procedures in the embassy told me they don't care how long i have it, just that i do. but that might be different depending where you are/what supporting documents you have.

Put it in a savings account. For 3 months. No hassle. Why complicate things. Barclays app. I used. Simple.

Anonymous participant 632 too late, but thank you. I want to apply in the next few days. I actually planned to travel for about 5 months (with 2 visa exempt) and then decide where I wanted to stay, and if I wanted to...but now they are restricting the visa rules and allow only a maximum of 90 days with 2 visa exemptions..

You don't have to show all details. When I submitted mine, I asked the bank to prepare one official statement with only the deposits of my employer showing, as well as the final balance after each deposit and the final balance. But the bank did it. It was not me personally redacting movements.

I had to translate 6 months of bank statements; I did not include all transactions in every statement, made sure income was included and a few outgoings. 3 months of statement is the minimum to be submitted; some people choose to black out transactions; it is embassy specific if that is acceptable or not.

Yes, many/most embassies does require funds to season. But not all. (Different rules across different embassies)I mean you could sensor the transactions, but why would you? (The amount of work lol) What are you worried about? Showing financial proof is a reasonable request for a visa application. And very standard all across the board. Its just how it is.

A visa isn’t a “right”, you kinda have no choice but play along with the rules.

You have the right to your privacy of course, just as the embassy have the right to not issue you a visa 🤷🏻‍♂️
