Has anyone applied at the DC Embassy for a soft power DTV visa using the following information: (really it’s a funds seasoning question)
Cooking classes signed up for.
Monthly income minimum guaranteed $1500.00 usd
Savings :100,000+ (but it is “unseasoned” due to being from the sale of a home)
(All other requirements met)
I’ve had a friend say his money was in his account a few weeks before he applied and was approved.
I would like to move sooner but the seasoning of funds is the only “disqualification” hindering that.
Should I go ahead Thailand and leave after when it’s seasoned and apply in Vietnam?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion focuses on the requirements to apply for a soft power DTV visa at the DC Embassy, highlighting concerns about funds seasoning. Users note that the seasoning period may vary by embassy, with one commenter mentioning that there is no strict 3-month seasoning requirement in DC as long as the final balance meets the equivalent of 500,000 THB. The original poster is considering moving to Thailand sooner and the possibility of applying from Vietnam once the funds are seasoned.
