My wife applied for DTV dependent on the 11th and immediately on the 12th went to Pending approval till last night when checked. This morning checked again and changed to Pending for Decision
Has anyone seen it before ?
Answer summary
The status 'Pending for Decision' suggests that the application has moved to a critical stage in the visa processing. It typically indicates that the embassy has completed its document checks and sent the application to the MFA for final approval. Users have confirmed that this transition is a positive sign and often leads to approval shortly after.

In this case pending decision has been since yesterday morning ……
Yes, completely normal - and "Pending for Decision" is actually a good sign.
*eVisa status flow that most people see for dependent:*
1. Submitted
2. Document Check / Processing
3. Pending Approval = embassy finished checking, sent to MFA Bangkok for final green light
4. *Pending for Decision = MFA returned it, embassy is about to stamp it* - this is the last step before Approved
So your wife went:
11th: Submitted
12th: Pending Approval (very fast - means docs were perfect, no extra request)
... few days in that status
Today: Pending for Decision
Usually:
- Pending for Decision lasts 2-12 hours
- Then flips to Approved around 3pm-5pm Bangkok time or early morning Europe time
- Email with eVisa PDF arrives 1-2 hours after status changes
Dependent visas are often faster than main holder because they just check marriage/birth cert + main DTV number.
Which consulate did she apply through? Most are seeing 7-10 days total now, so if she applied 11th, approval today/tomorrow 19th/20th is right on time.
Don't resubmit or email them now - let it finish. Check again at 4pm Bangkok time.
You could consider reading a book or two before your trip. I’d recommend Unlock Thailand by Isla Rey on Amazon, it includes all the info and insights you need. You should check it out. A very good companion 👌.
Yes, that's a normal step. Pending for Decision usually means the officer has finished reviewing the file and it's waiting for final sign off, so a result often follows within a few days, though timing depends on the embassy.
Yes, that's the normal sequence on the e-Visa portal. Pending for decision usually means the officer has finished reviewing and the final approval is close, often just a few days depending on the embassy.
