When calculating the amount needed for DTV (which I currently meet) will I need that amount doubled for my infant? Leaving US to Thailand. The website is a little confusing on if I will need to match the amount for my dependent.
Answer summary
When applying for a DTV visa to Thailand, it appears that most embassies do not require you to double the necessary financial amount for dependents, but confirmation directly from the embassy is advised. Comments indicate that some embassies might list requirements for dependents, such as a bank statement for each child, while others may allow a family bank statement with proof of relationship. It's essential to verify the exact requirements with the specific embassy you are dealing with.

We applied through the DC embassy and did not have 500k per person for our family of 4. All dependents were approved yesterday.
Both the Los Angeles and Washington pages put the 500,000 baht bank statement on the dependants' own checklist, and both accept a family bank statement as long as you add proof of relationship, such as the birth certificate. Neither says whether one balance covers the whole family, so that's the single point to get from the consulate in writing.
