Does immigration need to see the Chanote for the property you are renting in order to process a child’s education visa? I’ve never had to provide one for my own long term visa, only rental contract

Went from visa exemption stamp into Non-O 90 days thai child dependent visa in Thailand. Submitted the whole paperwork in 2 sets that is needed for the 1 year extension (hoping I could get one year straight away). Am I right to assume that for the 1 year extension I will have to resubmit everything even if it's the same immigration office? Couldn't ask the IO as he wasn't bothered. He also stamped me a 3 days earlier date. I didn't see it straight away, just thought it was a weird date for the visa expiry. But didn't want to test my luck by complaining. Also, if a new rental contract is needed does it have to start 3 months prior to extension date or on the date of extension for a year (like 30 days before expiration of Non O 90 days)? TIA

Hi there,

A tax question. Does the TDV allow you to request a tax ID number? I would think so, but would like to be sure. Also, what kind of rental contract is needed to request this tax ID? Is a 6-month contract enough?

Non O Retirement questions:

USA passport

Visa Exempt 13 Sep with extension stamp to 11 Nov.

Chonburi

Funds > 2 months

Age > 50

About one week ago IMM provided list of documents required for Non O Retirement when I did the exempt stamp extension. See the pic. Nothing I can see has any of the house rent info listed.

Today, the IMO provided a second list of documents required regarding the house I am renting, see pic. I'm renting a single house, not a condo and not a villa.

Also today, IMO marked a line thru the TM87 and said incorrect TM87 and provided me a new blank copy of TM87, an exact same form of the one I had today with my typed info.

Questions:

My TM87 info was typed except for signature and was two pages vs front and back. Could that be the problem with my info typed on the form vs handwritten or even two pages vs front and back??

I asked what was the problem with my TM87, and the reply was "I give you new one"...so I'm baffled and wonder if when I return to IMM the handwritten copy will have the same problem, but front and back this time. (handwriting is blue ink)

I had the rental contract that included a page of the landlord's ID card and the house registration but the IMO didn't want to look.

My bank documents were good today.

Will there be a problem if I use the same bank documents (dated today) when I return tomorrow?? Or must I get new dated documents from the bank again when I return tomorrow??

The IMO wasn't helpful and seemed irritated...is that the normal attitude I can expect every time and with all the IMO? I was polite, hello/thank you/etc. The IMO demeanor was nothing compared to the helpful and friendly staff that provide the Que ticket.

Thanks and I appreciate any suggestions.

Just a report from Chiang Rai Immigration.

2nd Covid extension until 28 Feb 2021 was no big deal. No embassy letter was needed, only the usual paperwork and a copy of the rental contract.

Immigration officer didn't know about any possibilities beyond deadline of 29th January and advised to come before this date for checking new rules. He couldn't answer, whether it will be possible to go for a 3rd extension by end of January.

Just a report about process at Chiang Rai Immigration: :

ED-Visa would have been expired 28th October. IO said that there is no possibility to extend the ED Visa within the kingdom.

So ED Visa was cancelled and new application was for 60 days COVID extension.

Immigration asked for copies of rental contract and passport only.

Got stamped in ' under consideration' until 11th November. Officer confirmed that extension will be 60 days.

Costs: the usual THB 1'900,-.

All quite straightforward and surprisingly simple compared to ED-Visa extensions with tons of paperwork.

I'm renting a new house and am heading to immigration Friday (closed tomorrow) and had a few questions: Do I need to take the photo in front of the house again and do I need to hand draw the map? Do I need a TS28 or 30? Thanks in advance.

For anyone who applied for the e-visa prior to arriving in HCMC, were there additional fees at the airport? I paid for the e-visa app online, but am unclear whether there are other fees once you receive the actual visa.

Also, will a bus ticket be accepted as proof of onward travel? And for the rental contract, do you need a photocopy of the landlord's ID? Thanks!
