Hey guys! My dog got sick last week, so I decided to extend my stay by 30 days and plan to head to Vietnam instead of Indonesia when applying for the DTV visa as I have heard the approval process is faster. I am planning to leave on March 23 and would appreciate recommendations on whether Hanoi is a good option or if I should consider other cities or countries. I was originally planning to apply under the freelancer/remote worker category, but I am now considering the soft power option. Any insight on which path has a higher chance of approval would be greatly appreciated.
Hi guys, there are two types of the application for DTV, workation and softpower.
If you are approved using the softpower option, you are still allowed to work for a company that has nothing to do with Thai companies or companies in Thailand. Correct?
I have seen both information and I am not sure.
Thank you for your help!
Update: It seems like it is permitted to work remotely as long as you have DTV and you are not working for any Thai companies or companies in Thailand whether you get the visa with the soft power option or digital nomad option or the other one. The point seems you have DTV. I am checking the official info but it does not say you cannot work with the softpower option. I think you can. There are legit bloggers who are working like that too. It’d be great if it is answered on an official website or something.
Hello everyone My visa results….Your visa application has been cancelled. As the applicant are working full-time at the governmental organisation, neither the freelancer nor remote worker, the applicant could not apply for this type of visa.
I am working at government as an engineer and ı trade in crypto and turkish stocks also.ı added everything about crypto accounts also .if ı get this dtv visa ı will quit job and only trade stocks…but they don’t accept what can ı do now ?
I am going to apply for the Soft Power option - 6 month cooking course (There is also a 9 month course, do you think this one would be more acceptable?) I can transfer the 500k from my investment account in the next few days, so it will have been in my current account approx a month by the time I apply for the DTV. I can see Hanoi and Vientiane look like good options for getting it done quickly. Which one would you recommend I apply to with my circumstances? Thank you ka :)
I am an Indian passport holder. Can I go to Thailand Visa free for 60 days and then go to Laos or Hanoi to apply for DTV visa?
I heard I can only apply for DTV visa from my home country. Is it true or false for an Indian?
In case I can apply outside of my home country, Do I still need to get the latest bank statement stamped from my bank along with the financial reference letter?
What are the other documents I need to prep from within my home country?
PS. I will be applying through the workcation route and my goal is to train Muay thai.
Question if anyone has experience about applying for a DTV using an agent through the soft power option. As some reports coming back for people extending DTV at immigration in Thailand are being asked to provide documents proving original application. Does anyone have information specific to Chiang Mai immigration or do you think soft power via agent will mean leaving Thailand every 6 months. Thanks
Hello. I'm about to go for the DTV visa. Soft power option, most likely may thai (it's been almost 30 years since I did any so maybe cooking is the better option 😂😂).
I'm based in Pattaya does anyone know which are the registered schools in the area and cost if available.
Next question is where is likely to be the fastest place to get the visa. I'm currently in Thailand and would happily fly to most places. But hopefully not for an extended amount of time. I expect this bit is tricky as everywhere seems to of gone evisa very recently and so waiting times may be unknown. I guess the pace with the last questions asked would also be good, although I don't see a problem with fulfilling the requirements. I have the money in the bank for over 6 months, if income is asked for which it shouldn't be I can show that also.
