TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience of having their DTV visa application cancelled because they disclosed their full-time government job, which doesn't qualify for remote work. Many commenters suggested reapplying using soft power options like Muay Thai or cooking courses, and advised against mentioning the government job in future applications. It was highlighted that trading crypto and stocks isn't considered a legitimate job for visa purposes. Overall, reapplying with a focus on permissible activities and clarifying finances was recommended.

Soft power or try another visa.

Crypto / stock trading is not seen as a real job.

Crypto is like gambling here which is not allowed that’s why you got denied

Why did you tell them about your "government job"??? That blows my mind why you would reveal that. You brought this on yourself. You should have just gone with soft power. Jesus.

Salery isn’t in the requirements, only 500.000 baht on your account.

Trading in crypto isn’t a job. Try doing a course like kickboxing or language etc…

if I wanted to apply for the Muay thai course as a 2nd option? In this case, will the 1-year contract I will make with the course be enough? Also, do I have to pay the course fee before the visa application?

You should not have shown anything about your government job if you planned to quit it after getting the visa.

Best chance is to use a soft power activity and show them you have a lot of money.

Don't prophesy about the future, facts are in the now.

yeah and don't think too much

Doubtful that being a trader full time. Can get you approved.

Online traders have been approved for the DTV.,
Steve *******
If you're applying as a trader, do not mention your other job in a set location, as that has nothing to do with your application as a remote worker.

you are right next time I will do like that thank you bro. I think Muay Thai course is best for me.

You can try to apply at another embassy or consulate but show only your crypto trades as your financials.

You were rejected likely because your job is not remote; of course you were rejected. They likely see your crypto activities as “investments” and not remote work.

So when you reapply you’ll have to demonstrate that your crypto trades are profitable enough consistently to qualify yourself for the DTV. And even then it might still not go through.

I just got approved on Friday, no issue with crypto or investment in general. You just wanna sound professional when you apply.

Reapply via the Soft power option - Muay Thai, Cooking course etc. You are non-remote govt employee so do not meet the criteria for the Workcation option.

Your government job would have had to write you a letter saying you had permission to work remotely overseas.

ı talked with them but they say me they can’t write a letter like that.because ı am not working remotely in my current job.

Thank you kevin ı send you dm can you check pls?
Andrew ********
well then why would you apply apply for the dtv 😅
Kevin ********
@Andrew *******
Because once he get the DTV he want to quit his job. But i understand your question here
@Erkan ******
If you apply as workation then you NEED TO BE ABLE TO WORK REMOTELY. If your current work does not allow that then you do not fulfill the requirements for workation. Very simple.

I would highly recommend you to do softpower. Go train muay thai - you will get in the best shape of your life and get a DTV. Forget all the trouble about your current work situation and you can still do your crypto work in Thailand.

You can reapply, but you have lost your application fee. Not sure why you would include the government job, if you can’t do it as a remote worker.

You're right, maybe next time ı don't write information about the job(government workers), so do you think it will be enough for a visa if I only write the information I do about the crypto business?
Anonymous ******************
@Erkan ******
now they already know about your government job and will reject ur application as remote worker again. Trading crypto is also not a job in their definition. You should either have a registered business or an employer

2. Would it be okay for me if I wanted to apply for the Muay thai course as a 2nd option? In this case, will the 1-year contract I will make with the course be enough? Also, do I have to pay the course fee before the visa application?
John **********
@Erkan ******
no you don't have to be working and 500k baht should be enough along with having signed up with an approved soft power activity for long enough to justify the DTV. They can however also ask you how you will support yourself
John **********
@Erkan ******
crypto can be hit or miss. It might be OK if you can show you are trading through a company and pay tax. I'd suggest you try soft power, meet the requirements and you'll get the visa
