I tried to apply for DTV, but I didn‘t have the 500k THB in my bank account, but my company which I work for has it and they wrote me a sponsorship letter. They didn‘t approve it and say that they don‘t accept that one. Did anybody had experience with sponsorship letters?
Summary so far
The original poster attempted to apply for a Thai DTV visa but was rejected due to not meeting the financial requirements of having 500,000 THB in their personal bank account. They received a sponsorship letter from their employer, which was not accepted, as applicants must demonstrate that they possess the required funds personally. Several commenters emphasized that the visa regulations are strict, stating that sponsorship letters from employers are typically not valid, and only direct family members can sponsor applicants. The consensus is that the poster needs to save the necessary amount in their own account to meet the visa criteria.

What's the point? Even if someone tells you they had a successful dtv approval with their company's sponsorship letter, that doesn't mean you can inform the Thai immigration to reverse their decision. And frankly if you don't even have 500k thb to your name, why the heck are you thinking of migrating?

You are exactly the type of person they are trying to filter out and prevent from getting a Visa that you generally don't qualify for. Good job Thailand!

You will need 500k in a bank account on your name held for at least 3 months, some embassies even ask for 6 months. So I guess you will need to save some money and as soon as you have the 500k, you can apply after 3 months

I know someone who got the DTV with a sponsorship letter, but it was from his Dad who was also living in Thailand.

I think you’ll have to save up the 500k baht yourself. Some people had friends/family temporarily transfer the money but I reckon that’s harder to do these days. Best just spend some time saving it up..

You need to get them to ADVANCE you the 500k so you have complete control of it in your account. Then they simply deduct advanced money from your next paycheck

You clearly don't personally have the money so thats why it got declined. Its a basic requirement and its clearly explained in the visa application. If you are trying to dodge this basic requirement, what else are you going to get up to if you get the visa? 🤔

You are not a child or teenager any more to let someone sponser you.

It is either you have money or not.

if he has a job why’s he no money in the bank does your brain not function the same way a normal persons does! It’s ok saying you have a job! If no funds in the bank you ain’t getting a dtv!

they can experience living in Thailand on a tourist visa. There's no need to be dishonest and pretend to have the money

When you were not able to save 500K it might not be a good idea to travel to Thailand every now and then in the coming 5 years.

I can understand Thailand does not want that category of people, too much risks for them.

yep you may be right. There was no need for that loser to attack him though. He is just trying to find a way. I know one person (early 20’s) that borrowed the money because they wanted to experience living in Thailand, and the cheaper cost of living helped them pay it back and save some. Gotta respect him for trying to find a way.

I was trying to make the point that many people have jobs but no savings behind them yet. I think a 5 year old would probably understand the point. I hate people like you that needlessly attack others looking for help in a group, set up to help people. It’s quite sad really. Bye

the solution is to have 500k in the bank! I’m not going to sit and to and fro with some bald old man who clearly has a chip on his shoulder! Why bring your daughter up if you’d lend have a solution and can lend money! Go away!

@Ben ****
you called his comment ‘stupid 💩’. Suggest you look up the definition of trolling. Can’t tell if you are a bit dim or just being obtuse. He’s trying to find a solution to his situation and good luck to him. If my daughter wanted to apply I would lend her the money. Little men troll people. Have a look in the mirror and try to be a better person.

I don’t see any part of what iv said as trolling! Iv clearly stated a fact! If it says 500k in the bank why would you apply without! Also if your pay to pay! That’s not what it says. If your daughter has no money and pay to pay she’s the same… she can’t apply is that trolling or stating a fact! You clearly have little man syndrome!

@David *******
my point is if the rule is to have 500k then you need 500k it’s like me saying I say trade and the trading platform has billions I will make money each week! It means noting when you need 500k in your account! I think Nicks having a bad day or just wants to put his little comments on everybody’s post

yeah i see your arguement about not having the savings because they live from day to day. If I was in that position and I wanted a DTV I'd go without and do whatever it takes to save the money to qualify. Maybe Thailand wants people who really want to get the visa and the people who want it easy miss out. Just a thought 💭

yes he isn't getting a DTV without the funds but there are many many people that live paycheck to paycheck, even with good jobs. Especially young people. They can afford to live but haven't been able to build up funds behind them yet. My daughter is 22 and is in the same situation. Does your brain not function the same as a normal person or do you just think you are sooooo much better than him you think its ok to troll him because of his situation. I would rather be him than you. He isn't a troll.

The requirements are very clear, you need the 500k yourself. So they are obviously going to reject a sponsor letter

They allow sponsorships of direct family members for DTV, just not from businesses

I believe you can only be sponsored by a spouse, next of kin, or close relative. If it's your company you should have done a transfer from the business account to your personal account.
