Can I use a family member as a sponsor for a visa application in Thailand with a Brazilian passport?

Has anyone had experience applying in Asia with a Brazilian passport and using a family member (my father) as a sponsor?

The funds would be in his name, but I would apply using my birth certificate to prove our relationship.

I’m applying because I work as a freelance tour leader/guide for a company in Brazil that organizes trips around Asia (excluding Thailand), but I don’t have sufficient funds in my own bank account.

I would provide a recommendation/employment letter from the company, as well as a sponsorship letter from my father.

If anyone has been through a similar situation or has any advice, I’d really appreciate the help!
