DTV -APPROVED -London in 23 days Workation

I wanted to share my DTV application experience to help others preparing their documents.

I applied from the UK as a self-employed sole trader working remotely (construction logistics / admin side, no physical work in Thailand).

What the Embassy asked me for (after initial submission):

✅ Passport biodata page (clear scan, full page)

✅ New photo on white background (head + shoulders, neutral face)

✅ Last 3 months bank statements (PDF export, NOT screenshots – highlight income)

✅ Invoices / payslips for last 3 months

✅ Remote work confirmation letter from my client (signed + contact details)

✅ Personal consent letter confirming:

I understand DTV = remote work only

No Thai clients or Thai companies

✅ UK visa/share code status document (from gov.uk)

✅ Letter confirming I will stay in UK during processing

✅ Explanation letter because I am sole trader (not Companies House registered)

Important tips I learned:

⚠ Screenshots are NOT accepted – always upload proper PDF bank statements

⚠ Photos matter – straight face, plain wall, no shadows, no background objects

⚠ If you recently changed from physical work to remote management — explain it clearly in writing

⚠ Embassy likes formal letters (signed, dated, addressed to Royal Thai Embassy London)

⚠ Combine documents into clean PDFs (not many random files)

Processing time:

They told me up to 15 working days after all documents are accepted.

My advice:

Prepare EVERYTHING properly before upload.

If you are self-employed — explanation letters are VERY important.

If anyone needs templates or wants to ask questions, feel free to comment 👍

Good luck to everyone applying 🇹🇭✈️

Thai Embassy in London - DTV approved

Remote work

Submitted the application : 13/01/26

Asked for additional documents : 20/01/26

Visa Approved : 26/01/26

Additional documents that I was asked were

1. A closer up photo

2. A rescheduled flight

3. A letter from the company confirming I could be working in Thailand

4. A consent letter to stay in the UK until the decision of the visa is made

5. Payslips for 3 months

6. Bank statements for 3 months

My bad for only uploading 1 month worth of bank statement 😅 but they asked for more and everything went well.

Fairly straightforward and fast!

I wanted to ask if anyone has experience getting the DTV (soft power) and being approved with a sponsorship letter from a member of family? Specifically I will be applying in the UK (my home country) and it would be easier for me to supply this rather than have 500,000 THB in my own bank. Thank you for any answers or advice.

I have had £12,000 gbp in my savings account since July 10th.

Is this sufficient to apply for the DTV in September in terms of time frame and amount please.

Hi all,

I’m about to apply for the DTV at the London embassy (workaction). Here is what I have:

Passport

Photograph

Work contract

Cert of employment

3 months of payslips

Bank statement with 20k GBP (1 month)

On the bank statement side, I moved the money from another account only 7 days ago, should I wait the full month before applying?

Is there anything else I need, or anything I’ve forgotten?

Thank you in advance!

Uk male. 64 years old. Semi-retired. Have necessary funds in bank. Have 2 part-time jobs for Thai companies in UK but combined salaries only £500 per month. Easy enough to get contracts of employment. Anyone know if the size of salary is taken into consideration when applying for DTV. Thank you

bit of a silly one I think, and I likely already know the answer but just incase.

is there a way to apply for Thai visa from the UK without having flight booked at all (entry not onward) I'd just like to have the paper work done then hopefully find a good deal as and when the timing is right and pull the trigger. it seems unlikely tho

This is kind of visa related, just a bit of fun! 😁

I'm from the UK, I applied for a tourist visa.

Just a little over 24 hours I received an email saying it is accepted/approved 😲

An invitation letter was included in the application, maybe that helped the process? 🤔

Can I say this is a new world record!? 😆

How quick was it for you? 🙂
