Hey everyone! My old passport that is on the DTV e-visa expired and I had to renew it. I have both the old and the new passport. I know I need to carry both now when entering Thailand.
There was a guy who got denied boarding by Emirates because the visa for his old passport. Does anyone have experience traveling with old and new passport where the visa is for your old passport?
Hey everyone. I was approved for dtv workaction after 4 days in Hanoi. My wife then took an extra 4 days to get dtv as a spouse. Just a heads up, the payment portal hasn't been working the best and you might need to contact the embassy. This has been a common problem for a month apparently. Also, when we entered Chiang Mai, all of the people with a dtv were told to step to the side. It was like they had no idea what the visa was and they don't have the technology for the qr code so you have to fill out a manual form and they question you a lot. Has anyone had this experience?
Greetings. My sister is a new fellow in Siriraj who just arrived last week (1st arrival in thailand, in Don Mueang airport). By fellow, her medical training here will last for a year.
She was about to open a bank account and upon reviewing her documents, she was told by the bank that her stamp upon entry was wrong, because it was stamped as a tourist entry, not as a non-immig ED entry, so her stamp states a date that is shorter than her visa, and should have it corrected. The international affairs office just told her to go back to the immigration office and have it corrected but didn't give her any more specific instructions. We tried going back but they wouldn't understand us, and said we cannot enter the immigration office.
Her educ visa is an e-visa because that is what they provided her upon application.
We were given a number to call but no one understands us. Would anyone happen to have an idea how we could have this resolved? We were told we have to correct it asap. Thank you very much.
I entered Thailand 3 days ago on a non-o retirement visa, short term visa, 3 months. I have already visited 3 Thai banks: Bangkok Bank, TTB and Siam purple bank. No one opens a bank account, they require a long pension visa. Without a long visa there is no bank account, without a bank account there is no long visa. Can you advise something? Thanks
Ok so need a bit of advice from those in the know. I arrived in Thailand on a Non O visa on the 18/06 went to the local immigration office yesterday to get proof of where I am living ( to open bank account ) To get all things sorted for retirement extension. Hit a bit of a wall when the immigration officer said you can not ask for the retirement extension because in thai in the remarks line they had written business. The application was submitted via the London Embassy. Has anyone a) been in this situation, and what solutions did you find. The Officer said you need new Non O go to Laos and apply there.
My possible solution and happy to be shot down if this is a stupid thought is go to Laos return on a visa exempt stamp and convert that in country to a Non O and then take the retirement extension.
In a perfect world trying to get the authorities to reissue a copy of the original visa with that word removed.
So my wife (Thai) and I have been married for 25 years this year. We've lived in the UK for most of those years, but now looking to retire to Thailand in 2 years when our son finishes uni.
Our son is 19 and holds a British passport. He was born in the UK. Would he be able to move with us and claim Thai citizenship without messing around with visas?
My concern is the whole national service thing. We didn't register him as eligible for national service as we live in the UK and at the time we had no intention of moving back to Thailand. It would be good if my son has the option of moving with us, even if it's only for a year or two.
Hello guys! Yesterday entering thru don mueang I was stopped by immigration around 1 hour. Currently I have student visa since 2023, but I saw some other guys in the room with DTV, just be careful as immigration is checking everything while getting inside of the country. This has never happened to me in my 2 years in Thailand.
Hello all, I made a huge mistake of overstaying and immigration police made me get a flight out of the country and essentially banned me for 6 months. My question is since I’m moving on this day, how do I use this information (and passport stamp) to get my security deposit back on my apartment?
Thank you all for being so helpful as this is an advice group 💜
