Need advise pls on my sons fiancé she they have been together 2 years and today at the home office in London for her fortnightly check in today with them they have decided to transport her to Manchester maybe to fly her back to Thailand, any advice pls as this seems so unfair!!!
Summary so far
The user is seeking advice regarding their son's fiancée, who has been in a relationship for two years. After a fortnightly check-in at the Home Office in London, she was unexpectedly transported to Manchester, potentially for deportation to Thailand. Comments suggest that the situation may stem from her immigration status, with some indicating she might not hold a valid visa and that regular check-ins are common under immigration bail conditions. However, the conversation primarily reflects community sentiment, providing limited actionable advice.

They would have given a reason, not just bundled her in a car and driven off, maybe your son isn't giving you the full story

Why Two-Week Check-Ins Happen

• Immigration Bail Status: If a person has no current legal leave to remain in the UK (such as someone awaiting an asylum decision, appealing a visa refusal, or facing potential removal/deportation), the Home Office may release them from detention under immigration bail rather than keeping them locked up.

• Mandatory Conditions (BAIL 201): Regular reporting is a standard legal condition of bail outlined in official paperwork (like form BAIL 201 or digital messages). It allows the Home Office to track a person's whereabouts and ensure they stay in touch while their case is being processed.

• Format of Check-Ins: Depending on instructions from the Home Office, a two-week check-in may happen digitally (responding to automated mobile phone messages or via an app), by telephone, or in-person at a designated reporting center or police station.

sounds like she doesn't have a visa

There is a violation somewhere since she is required to check in home office fortnightly

This is Thailand visa not UK visa .

Trying to escape UK not enter UK. Totally different.

Rules for Thai’s getting into UK are hard and rules are rules .

This group is for people with or wanting a Thai visa not for people being deported from the UK - try one of these which will provide better info for your circumstances.

Fournightly check in, unfair? Kim, your not telling us the truth. Immigration is not for DTV Visa Forum. Illegal immigrants get deported.

As others have said, you need to provide more details such as the basis on which she was here and any reasons given for the girl's potential deportation. UKVI do make mistakes, they refused my wife's visitor visa and said there is no right to appeal or ask for a review. You can however, make a complaint - which is what I did as the I.O. had clearly missed some of the supporting evidence. Without any further communication whatsoever my wife then received an e-mail stating the decision had been 'overturned' and she should go to Bangkok and collect her visa. Of course that is different to this case but it does illustrate that they do make mistakes. However, without more information it looks like she has overstayed in some way and tried to claim a reason why she should be allowed to stay - the decision has been made and she seems to be in custody. If that is correct, the reason will be that if they allowed her to go home and prepare to leave, she might simply disappear. What is puzzling is taking her to Manchester. Both Heathrow and Gatwick have regular flights to Bangkok - unless of course, they have a deal with an airline that only operates out of Manchester.

Permission to stay not approved or cancelled? What reason had she applied to enter on? What visa had they given her before arriving? Did she come as tourist and apply to stay and that has been denied? It would help if you explained a bit more.

Hard to comment without understanding more. I have never heard anyone checking in every 2 weeks before?

They wouldn’t do that without a reason. If you don’t know the reason then you need to find that out first.

The very fact she has to check in fortnightly tells me something is not right in the first place and I’m sure you already know what that is.

Patricia Ann Gardner … fortnight means 2 weeks and is regularly used…We do not use…..Y'all”

Patricia Ann Gardner it’s our language and we say fortnight meaning 2 weeks. If you lot don’t understand it or don’t use it means sweet FA. We use it all the time here because it’s OUR language.

John Ward we also NEVER use ‘ lot’ but for large quantities of products that is packed together or somewhere large that you Park your vehicle in. Why in the world can’t people understand and accept that we are all different and stop trying to criticize one another for differences. Is there not enough serious concerns and issues to worry about and take care of. You utilize different words/connotations /definitions - each one teach one with kindness and keep it moving.
