I have submitted an E-Visa application for a retired 90 day, Non-O, single entry visa through the NYC Thai Consulate. It is currently pending approval as of November 5. How long does it take to receive an approval (or denial) from the Consulate?? I have rented a condo the past 2 years. I am leaving 11-25…hopefully
Hello I got my DTV approved in Vientiane a few days ago through a Muay Thai course.
I went to pay the 10.000 baht one day. Went there 10 mins before the embassy opened and I was out in like 10 mins. The same day I paid the fee I got the email with the date for the interview, it took 5 days.
The interview was very fast, 5 mins. They asked to see my bank account app, to see the payment for the DTV course ( I paid with credit card so I showed the receipt). I brought a letter from the Muay Thai gym as well.
The same day I got an email with the DTV approved.
I stayed in Vientiane for a week for the visa but I'd recommend just paying for the visa and going to other parts of laos (vang vieng or luang prabang) and to go back with the train for the interview, Vientiane is kinda boring for 7 days.
Also really appreciate the information I got from this group.
I applied in Jakarta.

Had added a cover letter in English and Thai to every of the three documents (employment, finances, location) explaining situation and contents of the documents.
No questions asked, no additional documents requested (had prepared a copy of all passport pages but they didnt ask).

Excluding weekends, it took only 7 working days for my visa to be approved. I’m honestly surprised it was this fast, but I think it’s thanks to thorough preparation. 🙏
Just thought I would give an update on Ho Chi Minh Approvals as it took a lot longer than expected!

Submitted: 14th October 2025
Request Documents / Provided Documents: 17th October 2025
Pending Approval: 27th October 2025
Approved: 3rd November 2025.
Documents Requested:
1. Student confirmation letter from Cooking School.
2. All pages of passport
3. Proof of income and what I plan to do for the whole 5 years ( I showed some rental income that I earn plus mentioned that I had double the amount required that I would use)
All up it took 21 days ( 14 working days) for approval. If I was to do it again I would definitely have just locked in a months accommodation and relaxed instead of having to stress about whether it was approved and moving accommodation constantly!
Another thing is that I did email and send messages to Line about 3 times throughout this period. They didn't acknowledge them at the time, but today as soon as I got the approval I got a line message and email response which was great!
Very Grateful today as I am about to board my flight to Thailand!
For other people's reference for the DTV timeline particularly with the turnaround time for the LA Consulate for the workcation visa (remote work).
1. I applied at the LA consulate on Oct 30, 2025 in the morning. Fairly through with cover letters for each sections.
2. Got asked for more support documentation: remote work guarantee letter from company (even though I included one before), certificate of employment or contract, business license, description of business portfolio, and last year's tax return
3. Supplied the documentation on Oct 31, 2025 around 10am.
4. Got approval on same day Oct 31 around 1:30pm.
It was a super quick turnaround and glad it got approved.
UPDATE - request for additional docs came late today - Request for bank balance . Had submitted it previously so have resubmitted and highlighted the balance which exceeds the 500,000.
I thought that once I submitted the Application I would be less stressed. I was wrong....waiting for them to process the application is just as stressful :-) Submitted and paid Sunday. No progress yet ...yes I know it is only Tuesday but other applications seem to be getting an additional document request within 24 hours ( applied Hanoi)
