DTV Workcation Application from Dubai, UAE - Approved
I am honestly suprised that it did not take as long as I anticipated it to be, but it was not easy for sure. The waiting is what stressed me out even more. Sharing my timeline if it helps:
31 August (late night) - submitted application
(attached one-way flight ticket + hotel booking for 1 month, police clearance certificate - UAE and my an attested one from my country as i had it with me for my visa renewal + UAE residence visa and EID prove my residency)
2 September - request to submit additional documents (Employment contract issued by MOHRE + NOC from company stating salary and position and purpose of workcation + company trade license)
9 September - received email requesting an in-person interview at the consulate in Dubai
10 September - attended the in-person interview with just my passport and Emirates ID
(the interview was for about 10-15 mins. They asked me about my work, asked me to go online and show my bank accounts, my name on the account, the website of the company i work for, what type of work i do, if I had visited Thailand before and where I have been. The visa officer told me that she will request for additional documents post the interview and she wanted me to share a clarification letter about why I want to go and mainly how I will carry out my work there + resubmitting both my current and savings account statement for three months. To my letter, i attached a few supporting documents to support my case as well as my worldwide insurance. I just wanted to attached the latter. The supporting documents to the letter were not mandatory but I wanted to give everything I had to support my case)
11 September - Received my approval at 12:30pm for 5 years.
Overall the whole process took only 11 days. The application process is pretty straight foward. You just have to ensure you have all your documents ready to submit as well as proving you have the funds to support yourself and an income.
