Has anybody successfully cancelled an ED Visa after getting approved for a DTV? Exited Thailand with a Re-entry permit on an ED visa as a fail safe in case the DTV doesn't get approved. Got approved for a DTV then entered Thailand today stamped with the DTV. In planning to cancel the ED Visa in Bangkok, I requested for certification to cancel from the language school and they asked for the departure date. Similarly, most posts here suggested to cancel the ED visa first, depart and get the DTV.

My question: Do I have to leave Thailand again when I get the ED visa cancelled and re-enter with the DTV, again? TIA.

***Update, already processed the cancellation. Wasn't told I had to leave but then again they didn't say anything except hand the passport back. Unfortunately everything is in Thai and there's no "Cancelled" stamp. Anybody else have been through this process yet and can share what a right cancelation stamp should look like?

Is it easy to transfer your work visa?

For example if I get sponsored by company A, and then after a year apply for company B, will B have a hard time getting the work visa transferred?

I ask because so many companies ask if I am authorized to work in Thailand and if I need visa sponsorship, but only one company (I dont want to work long term in this one) is willing

I just renewed my passport but i plan to leave and comeback with a tourist visa when my visa end , most likely by air .

should i go immigration office to transfer the stamp to the new passport before i leave or just show them the old one when i leave ?

Hi. My passport is soon expired and i need a new passport. I go to the immigration office in kort and ask. What happend with my 1 year stamp when i get my new passport..and i looks like they dont really know what to do. But the woman in the information said,, you need to copy all the pages in the old passport and i need a certificate from my embassy in Bangkok that confirm i have a new passport...does anyone else have this kind of " problem"?

In July this year I will be having the pleasure of extending my “retirement” visa for another year. This will be my second time. Last year was fun and after being at the government building for almost a day, I finally got it completed.

This year will have an added complexity, in that I have to use a new passport because the current one associated with my current visa is quickly getting full. (I should point out that I’m a British Citizen who is lucky and allowed to hold two passports at the same time - for info purposes). What kind of additional complexities are there likely to be when I submit my application and supporting documentation using this new passport? Anyone been in a similar situation? Thanks in advance.

If I have a new passport with a valid visa in my old passport, can I just carry both passports when entering each time by air or do I need to go through the whole process of transferring from old passport to new? Cheers.

We just made a covid visa for my husband and I am just wondering what to do with the visa on the old passport if we are to renew a passport? The agent told me it cost 1000baht for them to transfer to the new one🤦🏻‍♀️

However, in Indonesia we just used both of the passports until we got a new extension on the new one.

Hi dear expats, i renewed my passport and now i need to change my visa extension from the old one to the new one, could anyone explain to me what is the process? my embassy gave me a letter that they said was necessary, but what would be the following steps?
