TLDR : Answer Summary
If your retirement visa is in an old passport that has been renewed, you should present both the new and old passport to Thai immigration. The immigration office will typically transfer the visa stamps from the old passport to the new one. However, procedures may vary by location, so it's advisable to check with the specific immigration office for their requirements, which may include submitting copies of the current visa extension or pages from the old passport.

If you enter Thailand with a new passport, you simply show both passports at immigration, and you’ll be stamped in on the new one. You can then visit the local immigration office later to have the stamps transferred.

I'm assuming you have a retirement extension and not a visa.

You go to immigration with both passports, and they'll move your stamps from your old passport into your new one.

Requirements vary by immigration office. Some just want copies of your current extension, whereas some want copies of every page in your old passport. You'll need to check with your immigration office to find out their process.
