Hi guys, I have been seeing many posts about the bank accounts of DTV holders getting closed. And I am wondering if anyone with a bank account that was opened on the non immigrant B visa.
Background:
I have been in BKK for about 2 months on DTV. And I have a bank account I made in early 2023 when I was on a Non-immigrant B visa. I was hired by a company in my home country and entered BKK on that visa if I understand it right. I was hired in my home country so I was already an employee and was basically an expat worker entering Thailand.
I opened an account with help of the company right away, then later in a month or so, I got a work permit. So in my case it was not an ED visa or DTV when I opened my account.
Has anyone recently applied for a non immigrant b visa for teaching in Vientiane? My school has never been through the process before so we're figuring it out together and it's hard to find clear information online. The system changed earlier this year which is why I'd like to hear from people who've done it recently please. 🙏
I believe I need to make an appointment online and then arrive 24 hours before my appointment so that I can upload my Laos arrival card along with all the other paper work (which i already have prepared) Can anyone confirm that arriving 24 hours before my appointment is necessary?
And does it really take 5- 15 days? How long did you have to wait?
I imagined moving things online would make the process more efficient and it used to only take 2-3 days, so the mention of 5-15 days surprised me!
Any insight, tips and recent experiences would be very much appreiated, thanks! 🙏
Hi, currently on a 90 day Non-Imm 'B' e-visa based on working for a school obtained from Vientiane, due to expire on Sept 24. I have decided this isn't the school for me. I deliberately put off applying for the work permit and extending the original visa so there are no issues on that front. My question is can I apply for a 60-day visiting family extension based on my half-Thai son before Sept 24 to tide me over until I find a more suitable employer? Many Thanks!
I am on an initial 90-day non-immigrant B visa for teaching. I do not have a work permit. I'm changing jobs and will need to leave the country and return. Do I need to get my non-imm B visa stamped at immigration saying that it has been canceled? Or will it cancel on it's own when I leave. Thanks to You
I left Thailand two weeks ago on my non-immigrant B visa. I own and operate a fairly unsuccessful Thai business so I'd rather apply for a DTV with my successful online business.
Can I still apply or do I have to wait until that non-immigrant B visa is expired in October?
Will there be any issues with the fact that I worked online on my non-immigrant B visa?
I remember hearing the non-imm B visa application process had gone online. I cannot see it on the Thai immigration bureau website. Does anyone know if this happened, please?
If so, what does it entail now, as obviously we would still have to leave the country if we are currently in Thailand?
I would imagine I would still have to go to the Thai consulate in Penang (or similar office). This was formerly an expensive 4 night minimum stay to lodge and receive a visa.
Also, it appears to apply for the Visa, we must be outside the country. Given that it takes 2 weeks to process the Visa, that implies that implies we must stay outside the country for 2 weeks.
I am on Non-Immigrant "B" visa. I missed my 90 days report last month. My visa is valid until 31 March 2026. Should I go to the Immigration, file the 90 days report late and pay the 2000 baht fine or can I ignore it?
