When you renew your passport, your DTV (Digital Tourist Visa) remains valid, but it's essential to manage the transition correctly. Expats are advised to carry both the old and new passports during travels, as the visa cannot be transferred directly from the old passport to the new one. At immigration, you will need to present both passports along with your DTV to have your new passport associated with your existing visa. Some travelers have reported having their new passport linked to their DTV upon entry at various airports in Thailand. If the old passport is lost, it is recommended to carry a digital version of your DTV on your phone or printed out.

I remember in chiang mai there was a visa transfer counter at the immigration for this kind of stuff , probably you need to visit it where u at after entering the country with 2 passports
You show both passports to immigration at the airport, they give you an arrival stamp on the new one, then you go to immigration, Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, there you fill out a visa transfer form and they transfer the visa to your new passport and then you just have the new one
I asked the embassy in my country and they told me I have to carry both passports. I asked them then, what happened if I lost my old passport and for that I made a new one? They told me in this case I should carry only my passport and show my DTV on my phone or if I want then I can print it out.
When you enter. Show both passports and your DTV. They should bond your new passport to your DTV. This happened for me and another person I know. Both were done in Phuket at the airport upon entry. Only need to provide my new passport but still carry my old one any2ays.
