romte work in thailand

do you think there will be an issue being an established uk remote working travel agent ? my company rules are that we can only book package holidays for customers who live in the uk and are flying from a uk airport and returning to a uk airport so there is no chance i will work with any thai businessess or thai people .....

anyone know if this kind of remote worker will be an issue, applying for the DTV ? thanks in advance :)
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around whether a UK-based remote worker, specifically a travel agent, might face issues applying for the Thai Digital Nomad Visa (DTV). The consensus is that as long as the individual does not engage in local business activities within Thailand, such as selling tours or operating a travel agency there, they should not encounter any problem with their visa application. Comments emphasize the importance of specifying that the business operates only for UK clients and does not involve Thai stakeholders.

OP
We’ve always booked customers to Thailand on UK-protected package holidays with ABTA & ATOL protection where applicable 😊🇹🇭✈️ But we’re a worldwide travel agency, so Thailand is only one of the many destinations we sell.

The rules we work under mean we can only book UK clients who live in the UK and are travelling to and from the UK, so we’re not operating as a travel agency within Thailand or selling holidays to people there.

We don’t actually have access to suppliers for local tours and excursions in Thailand anyway. Even for our own holidays, I book our package holiday as normal and then once we’re there, I arrange and pay for our tours directly with local Thai tour operators.

I’ve recommended local tour operators that we’ve personally used before, but that’s literally just a recommendation — customers contact them, book with them and pay them directly. We don’t take any payment or commission from it.

We’ll still be looking after our UK customers and booking their holidays all over the world, just as we always have.

What matters most is where you conduct the business. As long as you don’t sell tours in Thailand, that should be fine. Otherwise, it would mean involving Thai stakeholders.

Interesting question.

Foreign Tour guide in Thailand s is a big negative. Organizing them in Thailand and meeting them and going on buses with them is out of the question.

But remote work with a UK company?

Make sure you say you book packages to countries but don’t specify Thailand group tours.

Please let us know what happens?

You should be fine, Inc what you wrote about booking for UK based customers only in your application.
