How can I obtain a Pink Thai ID card if I don't own my rented property?

To those who say the Yellow Tabien Baan is a waste of time - it all depends on what you do with your life. I will be registering 6 vehicles in my name over the next few months and the DLT will require either a separate Certificate of Residence (500 baht per cert) for each one or a Yellow Tabien Baan. To obtain the Tabien I only need 1 Certificate of Residence - do the maths. I got caught out like this a few years ago when I opened my bank account. I had no idea what it said in the Certificate of Residence when I went to open my bank account. I asked the staff if they would photocopy it and give me the original as I wanted it to get my driving licence - they looked confused but did as I asked. When I applied for the licence the DLT staff said 'this is no good sir, its for opening a bank account'. Yellow Tabien Baan would have prevented that. Why each one should be for a specific purpose I know not but this is Thailand, I stopped trying to understand these things long ago.

I got my yellow book then pink id, wifes idea, after we registered our marriage at the same Amphur (Bang Lamung / Pattaya). Hopefully you are patient and have someone who speaks Thai to go with you. I never could or would of got it done without my wife. Took a few visits over a couple of months. Still not sure what the benefits are, tried twice to check in at hotels with ID card they still wanted my passport. The yellow book has not left the drawer since I got it.

You can get one one rented property with the owners permission they would also need to accompany you to the Amphur.

Generally the Pink Card and Yellow Book go hand in hand, but yiu can’t get the card without the book.

But each Amphur may have varying requirements so best to check with the one you plan to register at.

Only if you own condo I got mine 50 baht few years now and is for life

It’s pretty much worthless and you need a house book no rental property,get a Thai license

You can't get a pink ID card unless you first get a yellow house book. Not sure why you would want one as a driving licence does pretty much everything that card can do
