Hi everyone, I’m hoping for some advice.

My 10-year-old childs passport expired (non-thai) about a year ago, and the visa stamp in that passport expired around 3 years ago. I've now collected her new passport and im planning to leave Thailand in 2 weeks.

Will I have any problems at the airport if we don't sort this out with Immigration before I fly? Or I need to visit phuket Immigration before I leave? I'm told no need to transfer just take to airport and show both passports. No fine.  If I go to immigration will they ask me to leave straight away 😳 Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Allow for extra time at airport in case any issues. Should be fine friend of mine had something similar with kids years ago at phuket as well

it's very common for young children. They cannot be fined or banned from overstay. Why waste the time and effort on dealing with visas if you're not planning on going anywhere?

I wouldn't go to the immigration office, as there's nothing to sort out there. You handle overstay on the way out, because if you do it at the immigration office, you're STILL on overstay. I would make sure to give yourself some extra time though.

You should be OK if you take both passports with you when you leave. Kids under 15 don't get penalised for overstay but they will get an overstay stamp in their passport
