So I'm from the UK, and have a question for all the expat OAP's who are on 20 tablets a day like myself? What's the process for prescription meds? Do I need to visit a hospital with my medical history and get it OK'd by a doc first, or can I just stagger out of Soi Cowboy into the nearest pharmacy, no questions asked? Tia
I want to move to Nong Khai, Thailand with a DTV, using the medical treatment - soft power option. It has very been difficult to get good information. I've contacted the hospital in Nong Khai but is there a better first step?

I’m on the last part of my DTV. I’m 70 and going for medical. I submitted my letter from my doctor in Thailand. They are asking for specifics on my care. The particulars seem intrusive. Has anyone else cone across this?
“Proof of confirmation to attend the activity or letter of appointment from hospital/medical center: The doctor's appointment letter should include details about the disease you are being treated for (What is the treatment for? I have a retirement Visa that expires in April 2026. The quotes that I’ve had from the UK Internet search using the likes of compare the market for long-term health insurance are over £1800 (72k baht) for a single trip annual policy.
I will be coming out in late October for approximately six months and wondered if there were any local insurance companies who might be cheaper.
I am 68 and have no long-term health issues and would appreciate if anyone has any contacts so I could message/email them to get some local quotes.
