Why do you want it? I was interested in it in order to use the Thai ID app (initially I was looking at simplifying registering our cats before the cat registration in Bangkok went on hold, and I also expect to self pay SSO down the track) but I subsequently was told that pink IDs can’t use the app anyway. So I can’t think of much practical use for it now.

If you can get a yellow house book you will get a pink ID card for the asking. Normally you need to own a condo or be married to a Thai to get a yellow house book

Anonymous participant 386 it's just a money making scheme. It gives you basically no benefits. A Thai drivers license has the same benefits.

@Steve ******
this is my understanding too. I use much more my driving licence than the pink ID or yellow tabian baan. Actually i tried to use them in the past, i brought it to the immigration office and it almost gave me problems. The IO was confused and didn't seemed very happy about this documents.

Being legally married to a Thai government employee provides spouse with Thai Civil Servant Medical Benefit Scheme entitlement to treatment in Thai government (National Health Service) hospitals.

this also different

When you go to thai government hospital

It like this

- You paid

- Get from work with government if you use this you can’t use 30 bath government service. You need to pick one or another

- and then 30 baht government health care as today this include pink card as all Burmese and hill tribes has this also

- then cancer anywhere ( you need to apply for it) this is only Thai citizens

Thank you for your information. AFAIK registered migrant ASEAN workers are a special case. They are registered in Thailand's social health insurance system through their employer. It isn't the Pink Card alone that gets them free treatment in Thai government hospitals.

Anonymous participant 386 now new work permit all foreigners just got the pink card before it was little blue book. so now everyone is confusing

@Tai ******
please send your source ? The pink card doesn’t give us any right on the 30 THB scheme as one of the condition is the Thai citizenship. The Section 5 of the National Health Security Act B.E. 2545 (2002). Says “บุคคลทุกคน” — “every person” but the Thailand’s Office of the Council of State (สำนักงานคณะกรรมการกฤษฎีกา) in practice limits “every person” to Thai nationals. So foreigners can’t enroll.

But if you find something different I m happy to read and show to the gov representative ^^

You can send me a private message, and if you're willing to provide a small supper and make a donation, I will list the complete process and the required documents. However, it may vary slightly from region to region. You will definitely need registered property, ideally an apartment in your name, and a Thai friend to assist you with the application.

I don't have to share my experiences with anyone. I've lived here for five years, and what I've learned is that I can't get information from anyone when I need it. I have to gather my own experiences and learn the hard way. If someone wants to know something, they can pay for it. If you own property, for example, an apartment, it's very easy to get a yellow house registration book, which also grants you the pink ID card. It's a bit more difficult with a house, but still possible. The changes to the DTV (Directorate-to-Thai) regulations only came into effect in recent years. Initially, there were no problems at all. You can also easily open a Thai bank account with the pink ID card. I also have no problems opening a bank account with my visa. It always depends on the discretion of the individual employee or clerk, their friendliness, and perhaps not necessarily in a tourist area. And if I tell you about my experience with the DTV, you'll be amazed. After almost two and a half years and multiple entries, you'll realize that this is considered a visa run, and even I experienced having my entry denied the last time I tried to enter. You need to have the DTV (Documentation Certificate) translated into Thai and certified. It's a 5-year multi-entry visa, and you need to inform the authorities accordingly. If you own property where you are also registered in Charnot (Thailand), it's no problem to get a form from the relevant Ampor (town hall) or municipal office outlining the requirements for the yellow house book. These vary slightly from region to region. There are also agencies that can handle this for you, but if you have a Thai friend who can also provide a sworn statement on-site, it's not a problem. I have a yellow house book for both my apartment and my house.
