Happy to have just completed my first 12 month retirement visa extension and multi re-entry permit on the first visit.

A little help from Gemini and Chatgpt in getting checklists and samples of completed forms but managed it without any extra assistance.

I was a bit nervous but preparation paid off.

Quick question. When I go to Jomtien immigration next week to submit documentation for 12-month extension to non-o (retirement) forms TM7 & TM8 (multi re-entry), will everything be done the same day or will I need to return for the stamp in the passport? I did ask this question when I went to get the forms but, despite the sign above the desk being INFORMATION, I was told that they don’t answer questions, just give out forms & queue numbers.

Please can someone confirm how long a multi re-entry permit is valid for? I'm currently on a Non-O retirement visa with first extension due before March 2026. If I visit Vietnam for a week at the end of January and get a multi re-entry permit before departure, is it valid for a year or will it automatically expire when I apply for the first extension of my non-o? Many thanks

I am currently on a Non-Immigrant O spousal with multi re-entry permit all expiring in April '26. I plan to switch to a DTV in December during a trip to the UK.

Do I need to actively cancel my Non-Imm O or does it simply get cancelled when I come back in on my DTV?

If I do need to cancel it how do I go about that?

I'm really a bit disappointed with Thai Immigration.

I travel a lot, and my passport book was full. I asked the Chiang Mai Immigration office to move my Visa Extension (based on Retirement), and my Multi Re-entry permit to a new passport book.

In the new passport, officials painstakingly recreated many, of not all of the previous visa entries, and then proceeded to add "correct copy" signature stamps below each catagory.

Now, three pages are already consumed.

Why couldn't they just put the visa and the re-entry stamp on the first page and use the computer records at every desk to review the prior stamps if necessary? Why do they have to be recreated in my passport?

I realize begpackers and visa abusers' histories needs to be reviewed at the borders, but isn't that what the computers are for? Cant annual visa holders be exempted from copying all the stamps

This is going to get ridiculous if I stay here for 10+ years. Not to mention the time it will take to review and re-stamp 20+ annual visas and then add "correct copy" stamps into a new passport in 2034.

MY other hope is that one day much of this application and renewal process can be automated and moved online. Cheaper and more efficient.

Question.

I have a retirement visa. I have ticket purchased to fly BKK to India on 12 January.

Now I have an invite to Philippines but in order to get my BKK to India flight I would have tonovernight in Bangkok.

What do I do in terms of Re-entry permits.

First one is to entry through Bangkok.

Then another before fly to India next day?

Or can I stay over one night in Bangkok on a transit visa and have my re-entry permit for when I re-enter from India rather than Philippines. TIA for advice

I’m a university student so I get yearly visa extensions. I currently have a multi re-entry permit. When my visa is extended again for the coming school year do I need to get another multi re-entry for that extension?

Hello I recently obtained a one year extension on my non o retirement visa and a multi re-entry permit. I’ll be leaving the kingdom soon for a few months… do I need an exit stamp or anything else before I depart? Thank you in advance.
