Do I need to cancel my Non-Immigrant O visa before switching to a DTV in Thailand?

I am currently on a Non-Immigrant O spousal with multi re-entry permit all expiring in April '26. I plan to switch to a DTV in December during a trip to the UK.

Do I need to actively cancel my Non-Imm O or does it simply get cancelled when I come back in on my DTV?

If I do need to cancel it how do I go about that?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a Non-Immigrant O visa with a multi re-entry permit, expiring in April 2026, and plans to switch to a DTV visa in December during a trip to the UK. They inquire whether they need to actively cancel their Non-Immigrant O visa or if it will automatically be cancelled upon returning with the new DTV visa. Comments indicate that generally, when switching visas, the previous one becomes redundant automatically and does not need to be actively cancelled.

A switch will automatical end every old visa, but they will tell you when you switch.

Having more that 1 valid visa does not male sence (for any country)

I believe you cannot hold both visas at the same time, once issued your old visa becomes redundant.
