Please can someone confirm how long a multi re-entry permit is valid for? I'm currently on a Non-O retirement visa with first extension due before March 2026. If I visit Vietnam for a week at the end of January and get a multi re-entry permit before departure, is it valid for a year or will it automatically expire when I apply for the first extension of my non-o? Many thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A multi re-entry permit on a Non-O retirement visa is valid until the expiration date of your current visa stamp, not exceeding one year. If you apply for the permit before your first extension due in March 2026, it will expire at the same time as the current visa stamp.

Re-entry permit has an expiry date the same as your current stamp, regardless of how many days remaining.
If you apply for a re-entry permit (multiple or single) with the current stamp expiring in March 2026, the re-entry permit will also have the "valid until" date in March 2026.
