Hi everyone, I know the question I am

about to ask has probably been asked before but I can’t seem to find the exact answers for what I need.

My husband and I re-entered ChiangMai on Oct 27 from our vacation in Europe. We are from the US, and have been living in Chiangmai for about 3 months before we left for our vacation. We have a rental house, lease expires next July.

We have each, bank accounts with the min 800k baht set up a few months ago.

When we entered Chiangmai on Oct 27, immigration stamped for 60 days, expiring Dec 25.

We now wish to apply for the retirement visa. From what I’ve been hearing, I will first have to extend our tourist visa by another 30 days, after that, I’m fuzzy about how and when to do the retirement visa application. Will appreciate step by step guidance from those of you who are experienced. Much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello folks!

I am currently in Thailand with a non immigrant ED visa. Because different people told me that I can not change this visa to a non immigrant O based on marriage visa at the Chonburi Immigration, i decided to do this in Penang.

First question: Can I really not change the visa type at Chonburi immigration?

On the website from the Penang Consulate I couldnt find the requirements for this visa type. On the page from the embassy of Kuala Lumpur i could finde some.

[members only]

Point 6.3:

"Bank statement (last 6 months) in Thailand with recommended balance of 400,000 Thai baht"

Second Question: Mean this, I need to have the 400000 ฿ in my account 6 month prior to the visa application?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I’m an Australian planning to go to Chiang Rai in January to learn Thai.

Seeking advice please:

Can I change a tourist visa to an education visa once I’m there?

Would I have to leave after 90 days?

If so, are their restrictions on return? I’d like to stay 12 months if possible.

Thanks very much in advance 🙂

Hypothetical question which I am sure affects many here.

I understand that if on a marriage extention, it is cancelled immediately when divorced.

But what happens if your spouse passes away?

Does immigration expect you to put your grief aside and go to immigration the next day and get a seven day refusal.

Seems unreasonable in the circumstances.

Or can you immediatly apply forcretirement visa if you have sufficient seasoned money in bank ?

Thanks.

Planning to return to Samui in May or June 2022. Im thinking of another 90 day visa then change it to a retirement visa when I am there.

Is that possible?

I was also thinking a possible ED visa and take a Thai language course. I know I can change the tourist visa to ED visa but not sure about changing it to a retirement visa. Anyone a le to answer
