Three extension of stay questions: I enter Thailand with a non O visiting Thai family with the intention of applying for the 12 month extension of stay. I am aware that immigration offices accept applications either 30 or 45 days before the non O expires.
1. If I need to leave Thailand and return (with a re-entry permit), obviously before my non O expires, what is the latest date that I can apply for EOS?
2. If the under consideration period goes beyond the expiry date of my visa, is there a danger of going on overstay?
3. Could leaving Thailand and returning as in question 1 above detrimentally affect the approval of EOS?
Good afternoon, helpful people. I need to convert from Non-O (trailing spouse) to Retirement visa. I transferred the 800k into my account on 27 April. I was waiting for 3 months to pass before transferring to new Retirement visa, taking me to 27 July.
A friend said to me that, when she applied for a Retirement visa the first time, that the 800k did not need to be in her account for 3 months before. But she is not sure if that is because she was on a 30-day visa exempt at the time.
There is a reason why it would be more convenient for me to change visas before 27 July.
My question is - if I am transferring from Non-O to retirement, must the 800k be in my account for 3 months before the change, or can I do it earlier?
I need to renew my annual visa — it's a Non-Immigrant O (Thai Family / wife) visa. I am German and based in Bangkok. This time, I will be abroad traveling when the visa expires, so I have a few questions:
1. How many days or weeks in advance can I apply for the extension?
2. Is it also possible to apply after the visa has expired — for example, one week later?
3. Lastly, I would really appreciate it if someone could share from experience which documents are usually required for the extension.
Edit: You upload a flight ticket for the visa application and mine is from Manila to BKK and I am only allowed to stay in Phillipines for 30 days with my visa, that's why I am worried :(
I am applying DTV (Freelancer) from Manila. I have JUST noticed that my ticket to Thailand which I thought is tomorrow is actually on May.. I am pretty sure I bought a service that I thought I can make changes on flight details but Agoda says it is not possible now.. I have sent the embassy an email explaining the situation and I don't want to buy another ticket right away just incase things might delay.. What is your suggestion? I am worried...
Hi. So now with the new e-visa regulations, as I have read, you must show proof of funds to get marriage non-o single entry visa (90 days) too, is that right? Is that like that in all the thai consulates? Also is the processing time now 10-15 days? So what are you supposed to do? live in Laos 2 weeks?
This is the first time I have to renew my visa since the new regulations. Appreciate if someone who did it can advise and if there is a way around it. Thanks!
I will extend my non-immigrant O (Thai wife) visa next week, but in a different province.
As far as I remember it takes a while until I receive the visa. Can I still leave Thailand after the application documents have been handed over to the immigration, as I have to go back to Europe for 2 weeks? I'm asking because they'll probably come to do a home visit...
If someone could give me quick advice it’d be greatly appreciated! I need to know two things. 1.) Can my wife also be on my DTV visa, would she need to provide anything, or does she have to have her own?
2.) I do not own a business. I work remotely doing customer service rep online for a company.. Would that be accepted?
Ps- I have not applied just yet. I’m trying to get all of my eggs in one basket first!
Afternoon all, with the new E-visa recently introduced to most countries surrounding Thailand, how many days does it typically take for a 60 day Tourist Visa to be processed?
I have to exit Thailand and come back on an actual tourist visa (not visa exemption) so I can re-apply for the ED visa at Chaeng Watthana afterwards.
(I already had the ED visa before but my university didn't have the documents ready for my 6 months extension and now I have to leave the country and come back again after paying a 5 day overstay fine and getting a temporary 7 day extension).
The Thai E-visa website states it *could* take up to 15 days but I'm doubtful it would actually take that long?
Thinking of going to Kuala Lumpur or Cambodia to lodge the E visa application for tourist visa - does anyone have any recommendations?
Otherwise, a physical appointment at the Thai embassy in Vientiane, Laos may be a faster option?
