I applied for DTV Vis’s from Pakistan royal Thai embassy , they approved me only 6 months tourist visa. What should I do ?
Answer summary
The user applied for a DTV visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in Pakistan but was only granted a 6-month tourist visa. Community members suggest that the situation is generally unchangeable, and the applicant should utilize the 6-month visa and reapply after it expires. Some provide insights indicating that a 6-month tourist visa (METV) may be issued if there isn't enough justification for a long-term DTV visa. Others discuss the legality of working on a METV and possible future application strategies.

The same to me. I have applied DTV but give me 6 months tourist visa also. No reason and nothing we can do. We can only apply it next time.
I was issued METV as well back in January 2026.. Nothing you can do about, enjoy while you have METV and reapply after it expires. I am again applying for it.
You can get around 8mths using that METV. Apply again when it expires, many similar are approved 2nd time around. Did you apply for Softpower or Workcation?
Ok, so they often give the METV if they feel there is insufficient evidence of long term need for the DTV. Use the METV and reapply later, maybe different place like Laos, Vietnam.
Yeah, i know it's not really a special METV but the embassy gives it for applicants to use for the same purpose as the DTV. They could have created a 6mth DTV for those they think don't need 5yrs
There is no "Special" METV. Highly unlikely anyone gets caught but if they did the excuse the Embassy issued it will not wash. Immigration a MoL have jurisdiction and not MFA.
