Does anyone have any advice what to do or where to re apply after being rejected in Vientiane, Laos?

Reason given was I didn’t have the 500k in my account for 3 full months and the IO said don’t worry, come back in one month and re apply but an agency has advised against me applying in Laos again and recommended Manila even though I’ve read they ask for 6 months seasoned.

I also have an agent in Vientiane that has said they can help if I come back.

So, conflicted what plan to make.

Also has anyone had trouble re entering Bangkok/Chiang mai after 1 year education visa?

Thankyou!! 🙏🙏🙏
Summary so far
The user has faced a visa rejection in Vientiane due to not having the required funds

I cannot understand why people cannot follow the rules. If you knew it had to be seasoned for 3 months, why did you apply early.

Do these countries want tourism

Allan Rawai yes they want tourists. But they appear to not want illegal immigrants like everywhere. Illegal immigrants do a lot of illegal stuff here and exploit and wear out the patience of the Thai nation with criminal endeavours. Don't abuse the welcome.

Gregory Kleiman i don't sit in an armchair posting 10,000 miles away. I retired to asia 23 y ago. I dont know everything but i know a fair bit. I saw a posting by the president of Mauritius, making it so easy for tourism or retires, but at my age i have no wish to move. Holiday with my dear wife ok.

The rules are clearly stated. Why people just ignore them, and assume all's good to go?? Thailand is currently undergoing a huge crackdown at all levels of immigration. Get ALL your ducks in a row before applying.

The fact that your talking about “seasoning” money in the first place is sus lol. After it’s seasoned and visa is approved where’s it going back to.

PositiveAlpaca2466 People keep money in all sorts of much more profitable and liquid places that are nonetheless not always acceptable for this purpose - treasury bonds, mortgage redraw and offset accounts, retirement accounts, index funds, etc. The money will simply go back into these places once the visa formalities are complete. It doesn’t mean the money isn’t real and accessible if needed, which is what the requirement is testing.

PositiveAlpaca2466 it’s possible to have money in different accounts and have to move it into one place uno

There no point going to Manila.

Stay in Vientiane and do it again in 1 month. Ignore the agency.

Do not come back to Thailand on Visa Exempt, you will get denied given your recent Ed Visa.

OP
Sujy Sujaree do you know of anyone that has been denied or ?

I was advised by IO, agent in Vientiane and ISSA compass to return to Thailand knowing my visa history.

Daisy Clouter if your agent knows why are you asking here….

You obviously didn’t comply

OP
Neil Robert fella, you comment on posts that are asking for advice just whining and moaning… and if your on Thai time zone … at 5am… You can’t sleep ?

Daisy Clouter Another option would be to try to enter by land in Nong Khai. If you are denied, they simply send you back to the Laos side so at least you don't rot in BKK airport and get send back to your home country or wtv. You can explain on the Thai side if they quiz you that your DTV got denied and they told you that in 1 month they would accept you with the money being there longer.

Mma Droog I paid for Muay Thai course and they were helping with my documents, they will redo gym letter for re application.

Paid Issa compass 1500 to have a look at my documents and they’ve said they’ll help with re application.

Agent in Vientiane, havnt paid.

Daisy Clouter ok- did you pay your agent for the visa that was declined?
Daisy *********

OP
Mma Droog I’ve also read that after a recent visa you should fly in and not come in by land
Mma *******

Daisy Clouter the point is, land rejection go back to Vientenne; flight rejection, risk being sent back to country of origin.

OP
Sujy Sujaree so you think land is less strict than flight?

Daisy Clouter They are both completely clueless. You just ended an Ed Visa, you do not want to try to get back in on Visa Exempt. You have to stay in Vientiane and try again in 1 month (or travel around and come back Vientiane in a month). And yes, some agent in Vientiane can help you making sure you don't get denied in a month. There are helpers like this in Vientiane.

Vientiane is very strict, but follow all their requirements and you will get the visa. Why would you even apply if your money hadn't seasoned for 3 months?

OP
Wannikea Wanblee I know it was stupid, my agent didn’t even pick it up as an issue.

The money had been in just short of 3 months

Why were you rejected? That's what you need to work out before applying anywhere else

then wait and try again when your funds are there for a sufficient time. Or move somewhere that doesn't require so long to apply. The UK is, I believe, 10 days
