Hello, we’re 4 Americans for the DTV Visa. I expect to get approved for my DTV via eVisa process through the Los Angeles Consulate. I made the mistake of not realizing the eVisa process is 15 business days and don’t have enough time in the States to apply for my Spouse and dependents before we head to Thailand. Therefore we need to pivot.

Now the plan is that I will enter with my DTV. It looks like we need to do an eVisa as a tourist visa for each of them before they arrive in Thailand. Can anyone confirm this? I’ve heard it just rolled out this month. I assume I will also need to show a flight of them leaving Thailand within 60 days on the day we enter.

We’re now looking at going somewhere in SE Asia to apply for their DTVs in that 60 day window. So far we’re looking at the consulates below. I know you need to book an appointment for several of them.

* Phnom Penh, Cambodia

* Vientiane, Laos

* Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Does anyone have a recommendation on what Consulate we should go to and if there is anything crucial we’re missing? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have just received an email of approval for my DTV, I thought I would have had to go to the Thai embassy to get a proper visa on my passport.

So apparently all I need to do is to print this piece of paper that they’ve emailed me, fly to Thailand and present it at immigration ?

Re: Los Angeles Consulate — does the 17k USD in your bank account need to be in there for at least a few months? I’m just transferring the rest of it today and will be applying tomorrow. There wasn’t any requirement online but wanted to see what others experienced. TIA!

Hello everyone,

My husband applied and got his DTV visa in Hong Kong last month and we have moved to Thailand, and are in Bangkok currently. He entered with his DTV while I entered on visa exemption 60 days and now getting ready to apply for my spousal DTV.

Does anyone know if I have to go back to Hong Kong to apply or can I go to a Thai embassy in any neighbouring country?

Thanks in advance

Hi everyone,

I have a Non-O visa (Thai spouse) and am looking to extend it for another year. I have a working permit so originally tried opting in through a Thai employer, and I’ve almost completed all the documents. But, I don’t have any previous tax payment records in the country yet since I only started paying taxes here this year. These records should be available next year.

Now I've read the other two options: by pension as salary, and by securing a deposit of money sitting in a Thai bank account for '2 months'

I have a few questions:

1. Regarding the income certificate that meets the required amount, under which category does this fall? I already have the certificate (in Thai).

2. Do I still need to visit the embassy for this process, or are there additional documents I need to provide?

Lastly, does anyone have a reliable resource or checklist for these documents?

When I called Nakhon Pathom immigration office, they told me that without recent tax payments, I might need to leave the country and re-enter with a Non-B visa, which I think doesn’t seem to make sense in my case with Non-O visa. Any advice? Thank you.

Bank Letter Validity

Applying for a 1 year non o extension based on marriage. Just wondering if I can go to the bank a few days before to get the letter and update the bank book on day of application?

Hi I'm contacting you on behalf of a elderly thai friend of mine .

She unfortunately mistakenly entered Thailand on her US passport and has been put on a non o visa .

She has a Thai ID card She has just renewed her US passport so next time she travels will be a different US passport .

Can she now just forget about the non o visa and just make sure next time she travels make sure she enters Thailand on her Thai passport .

Thanks in advance for any information

Hi everyone,

Earlier this week I submitted my application online through www.thaievisa.go.th from Australia. The application was submitted okay but it will not accept any payment, I have tried multiple cards over the last few days. Has anyone had this issue or have advice? Is there someone I can contact?

It's time to apply for a non o visa extension and I asked my landlord for a new TM 30 because I have been out of the country before. I was told that since I didn't notify the landlord that I have been out of Thailand and returned, I have to pay a fine to the landlord in order to get a new TM 30. Is this normal? Where are the rules listed that I must report to my landlord that I have been traveling? If I am in the wrong, how to calculate the amount of fine I have to pay and to whom? Thanks in advance.
