I'm changing an extension for retirement to an extension for marriage but I want to change to another bank. I still have the 400000 for the retirement requirements and the new bank has had the funds in for over a year. Will I have to provide statements from both accounts or just get the old passbook updated & copied?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you are changing your visa extension from retirement to marriage while switching banks, you will likely need to provide detailed bank statements from both accounts. This includes ensuring that the previous retirement account shows the required balance for at least three months prior to your application and updating the bank book. The new bank account will also need to have a recent three-month statement and an updated bank book at the time of your application.

I am doubtful that just updating the passbook on the old account will show the transaction history enough to meet the requirements

Remember you have to show that you kept the 800K baht in the account for 3 months after the extension you're on now was granted (last year) SO you would need to have the year detail transaction print out for that account and probably also update the bank book the day you apply

AND

as you're switching banks to use another one for the new marriage extension you'll also need the 3 month statement for that account, updated bank book the day you apply and the bank letter
