Just putting in my experience with immigration. Just some context I’ve been to Thailand now 3 times once for a week on visa exempt, once with a tourist visa and then now on a visa exempt. So when entering most recently the Immigration officer looked at my passport and asked for onward flight or return flight. I had no phone data when landing so I had a screenshot of my onward flight, she looked at my onward ticket from my phone then thought about it for like 2 min then told me wait over there to the side. I knew I was going to be held back. Then another officer said follow me to the “back” room from there there were several of us waiting. The lady said I need to talk to the main immigration officer as soon as he’s finished with another person. Long story short, I waited 30 min then another lady came to me and said why are you here I said on Holiday. She said let me see your onward ticket and I showed her. Then she communicated to another lady and then she asked me why were you brought back here I said I have no idea and she was like who was the officer that told you to come back here and I said I can’t even pronounce your names. She said ok you are good then another officer came over and stamped my passport and I left from there. While I don’t blame the original officer cuz my passport photo and me now are a lot different with no beard and long hair and the onward ticket being from a screenshot I kind of wish the original officer at least asked me questions instead of just holding me back. I think they don’t have time for that since it was jammed packed and would rather have the back officers ask the deeper questions.

Hi everyone. Just a quick(ish) question as having done my own research into it I’m pretty sure of the answer but would just like a second opinion. Recently reached retirement age here in the UK and I receive £920 a month and that equates to roughly B40,000 a month, I don’t have a private pension so only have the state pension to rely on. I know the minimum is B65,000 a month to qualify for applying for a retirement visa or you can have B800,000 in a bank account, but that is not an option for me. Recently saw on a video on YouTube (I know, not always the best font of information) that in certain circumstances you can get a retirement visa and you only need to have a monthly income of around B33,000. I’ve spent quite a bit of time trying to find info on this but haven’t discovered anything, so I’m guessing that information was incorrect. Was just wondering if anyone had ever heard of the B33,000 option or it it was just false information. TIA

Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate some advice regarding my marriage visa.

I renewed my Non-O Marriage Visa about a month ago, and immigration told me to come back on July 2nd to collect the stamp for the new year. Unfortunately, I missed the date and plan to go on July 7th (5 days late).

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Will there be a problem or a fine?

Do I need to restart the process, or will they just give me the stamp with a late fee?

Thanks so much in advance!

Looking to connect with an agent to discuss health insurance options in the Khon Kaen area. I am currently not in Thailand so connecting through Line would be best. Any suggestions for reputable agents would be deeply appreciated!

We’re planning to apply for the DTV in Taiwan and would love to hear from anyone who’s already gone through the process.

We’re a couple - one American, one Israeli and we’d really appreciate any insights, tips, or experiences you can share 🙏

Thanks in advance!

I have read in these forums that once you use an agent, you will have a difficult time switching to DIY. I had an agent do my Retirement Visa because I didn't have the 800,000. Then I got married and my wife wants to do the Marriage Visa based on my pension. We got the checklist from immigration and she talked to the guy there. She insists that if we give him all the papers, there won't be a problem. Has anyone else tried this? I'm not really interested in hearsay. Does anyone have any actual experience or documentation indicating there would or wouldn't be an issue?

UPDATE: My wife could not be persuaded, so I let her drag me to Immigration. She was trying to figure out the paperwork, and after two tries, I had an Immigration Captain explain to her that we would have to show the $800,000 for the Retirement Visa before she issued the new Marriage Visa. The Captain cornered me when she sensed that was an issue, and I had to confess to using an agent. She then confirmed that I could leave and come back and start over. I was pooping my pants though.
