Hi guys,

I am wondering if someone could help, please.

I will be in Bali for 5 days, then flying to Australia for a week, then back to Thailand after that.

My concern is that I need to stay in Bali until my DTV is approved, but if it is delayed, then I may have already flown to Australia, and this will cause issues.

I am hoping I can apply and be approved in Bali, but if not, it will still be ok if I am in Australia by the approval date.

Does anyone know if this would cause an issue, or as long as it is all done online, it shouldn't cause any problems?

Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

Big thanks to this group for all the help. I’ll add my own success story here for others.

Applied in Jakarta for the *workcation* DTV before business hours on July 8th. Status changed to “Pending Approval” in the afternoon of July 11th. Got the approval email around 6 p.m. on July 15th.

Some questions or murky areas I wasn’t sure about during the process — sharing in case it helps others. Just my experience; your mileage may vary:

• Bank statements: 3 months was fine — just the first “summary” page showing the bank name, address, and balance (highlighted). Not the entire statement.

• Passport “Place of Issue” field: I entered the *country*, not the issuing authority.

• Proof of consistent income: I submitted 3 years of annual income tax returns, first page only, with the income highlighted.

• Address fields: My current address was different from my home address. On the form, home address goes at the top, current address goes at the bottom under “Is your permanent address same as your current address?”

Overall, I learned from this group not to take form preparation lightly. Create a clean, well-organized PDF designed for a non-native English speaker. Make their life easy. Highlight all relevant numbers. Write a clear cover letter explaining what’s included and how to interpret your documents. Eliminate all vagueness.

Example: they ask for proof of current location, so give them the passport stamp, hotel reservation, a photo of you in the hotel holding the passport stamp, plane ticket, etc. Leave no doubt.

Also — don’t use an agent. It won’t be faster. It won’t be better. I suspect that most of the people on here mentioning specific agents are just rather unethical and dishonest marketing tactics. The required documents are pretty straightforward, and the submission process itself is very easy. Just *triple check everything.*

Thanks again to everyone for the assistance! If you need me, I'll be drowning in Pad Thai.🤤

Do all expats who stay over 180 days a year file Thailand tax return as they are considered residents and Thailand supposedly taxes worldwide income.

I’ve just had my banking app temporarily suspended.

I was notified last week that my banking app would be suspended due to my name on my account and my sim not matching. I opened both with my passport.

However I decided to fulfil their wishes, I went to my SIM card provider and got the required receipt showing my name and phone number, I then duly went to my bank and provided the receipt from the phone company, my passport and I was photographed again.

Naturally I thought ok job done everything should be ok no banking app suspension for me.

Tit, my banking app was suspended today. I will now have to visit my bank and go through this again I guess.

Hi all, I’m on a retirement visa and my first renewal date is 22nd Sept 2025. I’ve been doing my 90 reporting online but my next one I’d due 15th Sept only a week before my visa renewal. Can I just renew my non O visa early instead of doing the 90 day report?

Also, do I need the same documents for the renewal as when I first applied for my retirment visa, including the bank document showing the 800k came from the UK or is that not necessary anymore just 12 months statements? TIA

Hey everyone đź‘‹

I’m planning to apply for the new DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) under the remote worker / digital nomad category.

I’m currently employed full-time by a foreign company (based in Israel), and I have a formal contract.

However, the contract doesn’t specifically mention remote work — so I’d love to get clarity:

👉 What exactly do I need to submit for the “employment certificate/contract” part?

Would an additional letter from the company confirming I’m allowed to work remotely from Thailand be enough?

Also — I’m applying from Israel. Is there anything specific I should know or prepare differently when applying from here (documents, embassies, translations, etc.)?

Any recent experience or tips would be super appreciated 🙏

Thanks in advance!

Hi all. I'm an Aussie and have a return ticket: arrive mid-August & depart late Oct. I haven't yet decided if to have a one week trip in September to HCMC or Phnom Penh. Is there a risk that check-in or immigration may say it's over 60 days so need a ticket somewhere before the 60 days is up? Thanks
