Can I apply for a Thai DTV from Bali and travel to Australia in between?

Hi guys,

I am wondering if someone could help, please.

I will be in Bali for 5 days, then flying to Australia for a week, then back to Thailand after that.

My concern is that I need to stay in Bali until my DTV is approved, but if it is delayed, then I may have already flown to Australia, and this will cause issues.

I am hoping I can apply and be approved in Bali, but if not, it will still be ok if I am in Australia by the approval date.

Does anyone know if this would cause an issue, or as long as it is all done online, it shouldn't cause any problems?

Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on applying for a Thai DTV (Digital Tourist Visa) while in Bali, as they plan to travel to Australia shortly after. Concerns include potential delays in visa approval and whether being in Australia during the approval period could affect their application. Comments indicate that remaining in the country of application until approval is often required, and applying from Australia may be a better option.

Apply in Australia simple

It's highly unlikely your application would be approved so quickly and you need to remain in the country you apply from until the process completes. If you are genuinely only in Bali for 5 days seriously consider applying elsewhere that you are willing to wait for approval

The embassy may require an interview or proof of location as you need to remain in the country of application. They consider your online application the same way as if you would have applied in person and waited there for it. If caught, it may lead to the cancellation of your application at your own expenses.
